Just a quick note. Some of you think that the reason Arthur and John have different aiming styles in the vid is because they're holding different weapons. Let me clear out the confusion. Arthur has both eyes open whether he's holding a shotgun or a rifle. John, on the other hand, has one of his eyes shut when he's holding either of those two weapons.

With the different aiming styles between Arthur and John it makes sense. Arthur was always the rifleman of the gang. As seen with both Sadie and Micah giving him rifles/asking him to be the shootist. That being said, shooting with both eyes open is superior as it doesn't limit ones field of vision. Allowing them to be better aware of targets outside of their scope/sight vision.

Shooting with both eyes open is not superior. There are pros and cons to both styles. In self defense, support eye closed and dominant eye open will ensure the best results. One that i discovered on my third playthrough, if you go back to that building in St. Denis as John (the building you can donate money to to have built and the lady says Arthurs name will be on a plaque of donators) Arthurs name will actually be there. And John has a little bit of dialogue when he looks at it.

For anyone wondering mixed race marriages and for that matter relationships in the U.S. were illegal in over 30 states till 1967 when the Supreme Court ruled otherwise. Although that doesn't mean these didn't happen unofficially. It was pretty common in Central Appalachians for example for natives and whites to unofficially marry. It's also important to point out how educated the gang was as most knew how to read back in 1899 that was pretty rare for one person within a group to be able to read much less almost the entirety of the gang.

I have my own little hidden detail as a gun fanatic. In the gunsmith catalogue, for the lancaster repeater there is a winchester model 1894 pictured but in the game it is a winchester model 1873. Maybe rockstar changed their mind on the gun they wanted or they accidentally got a wrong drawing for the gunsmith catalouge. Had anybody else noticed it? Edit:I meant the model 1866 not the model 1873. Whoops.

Its entirely possible it was mistake. The 73 is the prolific "gun that eon the west" but models like that don't change much. It would explain why the gang lost everything including going west.

Since Arthur is physically more bigger and stronger than John (throughout the game a lot of people describe him as being a brute), I think it would’ve been cool for Arthur to have fast fights and brawls since he’s more stronger and have his health deplete slowly and also loose stamina more slowly while carrying things. And for John since he’s pretty thin, I think they could’ve made him do things faster like run faster, draw his guns faster, and have a longer stamina when running.

another cool detail with the five finger fillet is that when you enter a pool of water after a game you'd see blood come out from your cuts on your hand. its how i discovered the cuts still being on your hand afterwards when i tried to wash dirt off Arthur I was like "how the fuck am I bleeding" then it hit me it was the game Lenny kicked my ass in lol.

I found another detail just yesterday that I never noticed before. When you're shooting a revolver behind cover and you switch to left-handed for a better view and cover (already something a lot of people don't know about), the fire rate is much slower because you'd be less dexterous with your off-hand. I thought that was a cool little detail. Also I'm not sure if it's with all pistols and revolvers or just single action revolvers, I was using a cattleman. Might be slower with a single action revolver since the dexterity needed to cock back the hammer would be even harder, but I'm not sure

The patched sleeve reminds me, I bought an off-white Panama hat and have worn it a lot, so as expected, I sometimes lose it during adventures. I noticed a hole having been shot in it. And cool how the damage seems permanent, unlike GTA V where clothes are magically repaired after a while. I wonder if that'll be a detail in GTA VI, or when it comes to expensive clothes like suits, you'll be able to find boxes about the house from the clothes stores you bought the item at originally, the boxes being replacements of the damaged outfit/accessory.

I don't know if you ever encountered this: I was riding along in Chapter 2 i believe, near camp, Javier comes riding out of nowhere and says you need to go rescue Bill from some bounty hunters and you rescue Bill with Javier. I have this game 100% done on console and i just did another playthrough on PC i have never encountered that before. That shows how great this game truly is.

A lot of people misunderstand the van der linde gang because they're what the game focuses on but let's cut back to the braithwaite massacre where they killed every single person in the manor to get to a kid that wasn't even there, the absolute ruthlessness of the gang and how cold and dark each and every one of their hearts are, Arthur won't even help a mother save her dying child unless there's money involved for one simple reason, they're criminals, they're the bad guys who refuse to live in civilization because they don't want to give up the good life shown as how none of them took the FBI's offer to take dutch and let all the others go, they don't care about anyone but themselves or money, they'd sell out their own for the right price

There’s a theory out there that Arthur wasn’t supposed to die originally but they killed him off for some reason near the finish of the game. I hear he’s still got some lines that clearly imply he’s in black water- and very much alive. So I imagine they probably tried their best to change the model from Arthur to John but of corse since it was last minute they may have skimmed over a few things

Their bodies and animations are NOT the same... look closer. Arthur has shorter legs and a longer torso, John has longer legs and a shorter torso. Arthur walks with his legs fairly straight but John sticks his knees outward when he walks... it reminds me of the old GTA games, GTA3, GTA VC, and GTA SA, all of the main characters had that same walk.

@Angel Araujo easiest way is in the Micah jailbreak mission kill the lawmen the first one you loot will have jail keys then instead of unlocking Micah from the cell go back outside and blowup the wall. That lets you keep the keys

i remember once in the intro of the game, aurthur got a big gash on his temple after the gunfight with the o'driscolls. when i looked back at the spot later when i was going up the mountain with javier, it looked liked the same spot on aurthurs temple had turned into a sort of healed-over scar? it went away after that mission, but the fact that it was there at all really blew my mind.
