I’ve watched Earl shoot a lot and he always reminds me of a savant with ADHD. He shoots very quickly with almost a sense of impatience, like he thinks so quickly that his body is fighting to keep up. He doesn’t take many pre-strokes, shoots fast but always so accurate with great position, and he doesn’t seem to rethink his original approach once he’s committed. It’s both amazingly entertaining and slightly stressful to watch him work around the table.

I like watching him for that reason. Earl Strickland has said many times he is a proponent of shooting fast because it's more entertaining to watch. He said pool can be boring and that's why it's not mainstream. He gave Ralph souquet as a boring example 😂😂. That's why another one of my favorites to watch is Joshua Filler cuz he shoots fast like Strickland

I usually write good match, forget that crap, this was a GREAT match. I haven't had so much fun watching a match with the older Strickland in it in a long time. He would do himself a service to adopt more this attitude. They both played like gods, basically, a coupled of bobbles and some dry breaks, and some shots that were out of this world, very high level pool. Man, I am clueless as to why Earl picked stripes on that game ending 46:00. Even the commentators were back and forth, for me it was instantly pick solids, no comparison, even negating the problem stripe they looked better to me. And except for Earl's killer clearance shot on his LAST shot (he IS good at coming with those) before the eight ball, which could have gone bad pretty easily, he had a serious problem because of it. Like I said, I do not get it. People pick on Danny all the time. For my two cents I think these two are always hilarious. When they're not arguing like an old married couple, they are breaking each other up. And Danny always has at least one excellent quip.
@5000rgb3 жыл бұрын
I love when the commenters are ribbing each other and telling stories. Pool often doesn't need a lot of commentary and I like trying to figure out what the players will do without the announcers spoiling it for me.
@tonynguyen41472 жыл бұрын
I think you pick your poison at the end of the day the 3 and the 13 ball are the obvious problem balls. I would have chose stripes too if you can make 14 in the corner its not too too bad to get position on the 13 to shoot it in the same corner

great match to watch, always good to see close competition. I enjoyed it even more after muting the sound. Not tasteful or professional for the anti Earl commentator cut a player down. I suppose his negativity might be because Strickland could smoke him even shooting left handed.

Why is it that every announcer calls the balls solid and stripes. We said that when we were 12! It always was high or low ball ! Who says "stripes" ? Nobody in any pool hall in my Newark, NJ talks like that! 😂😅
@AccuStats11 ай бұрын
I have been playing pool for 35 years, and writing about it for the last 20, and I have NEVER heard them referred to as high or low ball. It was always "the big ones" or the "the little ones" when I was growing up. Now it's "solids" or "stripes" everywhere.

Hello Accu-stats, I gotta couple quick questions that roam my mind! First, the people with earphones on the crowd, are they listening to the comment by Bill and Danny? And second, where is Bill!? In my opinion he's the best commentator Accu-stats had, and with Danny they make such a good duo, I miss him commentating more recent games! Cheers from Andalusia!

Definitely a foul. You can tell by the direction the cueball moved after the shot. It hit the 11 first, then "stunned" directly to the left off the 3. On a good hit, it would go left of the 3, then be stopped by the 11 or go more towards the side pocket than it did. I think Billy saw it, but held his tongue. Who ever knows what Danny is thinking.
