Detroit's old homes are unique and gorgeous. Many of the old mansions have fountains inside as that was the trend at one time. They also feature tile from Detroit's Pewabic Pottery. You won't find tile like it anywhere else. But I can see myself living downtown. I worked there for two years at the turn of the century and I prefer a walkable neighborhood.

Schools..... Not, Entry level, McDonald's, burger king, ect. Gas station & liquor store Iran by foreigners and they don't give back to the community so we don't have any parks, kids can't get into anything but trouble no YMCA nothing for them to do

Taxes are supposedly high. Also, if you live and work in Detroit - you will pay more Detroit taxes. There is also supposedly very little convenient shopping - ex grocery stores. I think your car insurance rates are also high because of the crime rate. The new residential living buildings are in Cork Town are gated communities.

​@@NneomaInhisplace what area in Michigan are you wanting to go to? Oakland County is pretty good but pricey. Stay away from Southfield, Oak Park and Hazel Park in Oakland County. We are not far from Detroit.

This video doesn't accurately represent any of the neighborhoods and because of the crime in the city I would not invest one dime living in the city. The tax base is lacking and so are the city services including the police. Anyone that didn't have a deep investment what could afford to leave Detroit did so in the late nineties
