Huh, I've actually owned two of those. That Smart Roadster really feels like a gokart to be honest. Most fun you'll have in a roadcar!

Damn. I currently have a notch back I bought for £1500 in 2018 and keep thinking "oh bugger it, if it fails it's MoT it's off to the scrap yard". But the leakster drives like an Elise (I've had two) but without the imminent threat to your licence.

@@zx9mel I know what you mean. Mine had a gearbox failure and it didn't make sense to repair the car as that cost almost as much as I paid for it. Great fun though!

I always liked the Honda CRX, 2 seater sports car, cool roof and must have been great to drive. I had a civic of the era and wanted the CRX. The engines were amazing I had 90 MPH in 3rd gear in my Civic. I lusted after SIR imported cars with limited slip diff and the Japanese spec extras. I wanted to practice on Grand Tourismo on my PS2 and then drive to the Nurburg ring and drive round it.

Had a Bonalume Italian series racing clutch put into my smart Roadster and, along with other mods, pretty much punched through the gears effortlessly. Damn, I loved that car!

Toyota Celica 190/Tsport - 2-3K great looking car, advanced Yamaha co-developed 2zz 190HP engine, 6 speed, 4 seats, huge boot. Front wheel drive I know but reliable and handles. Or 3000 GTO- 7-10K, 4 wheels drive and steering!, V6 engine, 6speed, 4 seats. Problematic car, but it's a budget supra.

Will disagree with the porsche as a whole on this list. It it cheap? Ya... for a bloody reason. I swear /all/ porsche engines were designed to fail from this period from the SUV to the boxter. What experience I had with one was an utter nightmare on maintenance and made you question why you owned it at all... Nevermind the timing service that was needed because of a flawed design from the factory.... If you have 20k to blow on maintenance then ya... it's a great car with amazing handling and performance for its size...

@@jamesmcdonald1889 in America we had "cash for clunkers" it grinded up all our used vehicles and sold the scrap metal to China, there used to be a $500.00 used car market.

Well it depends if you are happy with extreme high mileage examples.....those 10k cars are also going to be high mileage. If you want to have a decent one be willing to spend at least a few thousand more....

I used to own a smart roadster and they are great fun and you can fiddle and play with them a bit or you can go mental and stuff a gsxr1000 lump in the back and scare your self silly. Do miss my one to be fair even being a left hand drive one it was great.

@@Nickoboss29 mine was a roadster, left hand drive in red with silver tridion. I wanted a glass back coup or possibly one of the brabus ones. Unfortunately my friends who also had a roadster had an accident and after seeing the mess of their car I traded mine in against a black brabus for four which was a huge mistake.
