I saw this on his channel and saw that he hadn’t already done at least the first video. Your video has prompted me to buy 3 of the 5 books today. I already have the Plato.

Excellent. Thank you coming over and checking us out. Rob has the first two books finished already. The videos are: How Classical Education Impacts Democracy | A Call For Restoration and How Education Became a Tool For The Elite | Weapons Of Mass Instruction by John Gatto. You were a step ahead of me with already owning Plato. I am looking forward to gleaning some wisdom from the books. Again, happy to have you here and thank you for leaving a comment.

Hi, hello and your poor nail! Some pretty heavy reads here. I think I read Plato once back in college but have never thought about reading it for fun again lol I just finished up Service Model and was NOT A FAN! It's listed as some kind of adventurous action-filled story quest, and it was anything but that Happy reading and take care! See ya on the next one

Hi, hello~ I wouldn't say I'm reading these books for fun. LOL They're for a cause. What a bummer about Service Model falling short. =/ I just looked it up on goodreads and it has a 4.1 rating. But I take those ratings with a grain of salt. That's why I like reading the one star reviews. What's next on the tbr?

Yeah I feel like I was duped, the description and "critic's reviews" made me think this was going to be an action-packed sci-fi robot book and it was not even close! I just finished a silly space book called The Worst Ship in the Fleet, book one of 7 or 8 in a series. It was pretty short but not too bad. Just reading little filler books now until my library holds are ready, I got James and Horror Movie weeks away!

@@holt_arr sounds like a deceitful bit of marketing there. I've had that happen to me once. The book was "sold" as a jane eyre type book and it was vulgar and not at all like Jane Eyre. I will never read that author again. She just came out with another book too. I don't like being lied to, so she's mudd in my eyes. I'm even more salty because she's a booktuber and so if it had just been some unknown author it wouldn't feel as deceitful. I hope your other books come in soon. I know what you mean about reading the filler books. I'm finishing up one today. Do you have any physical books to read if the ebooks don't come in soon?

@@holt_arr I hear you on the fillers. I did that this month (July). Lots of filler books. My tbr didn't go as planned. It went off the rails big time.

So many fillers! I've been listening to short story audiobooks on my walk lately too to help kill the time faster, it's so hot!! I think after I finish this latest horror I'm gonna finally read Adventures of Tom Sawyer then Huckleberry Finn. By the time those are done my copy of James should be ready woohoo

You even break a nail for the cause! I am searching out that Hayek book. Great list. Best wishes.

LOL Yep. I almost edited that part out too. But the cause is to improve education and I'd do more than break a nail to help students. Thank you for watching and commenting. I'm still trying to figure out how to comment on your channel to avoid the censoring. Rob Piri gets all the credit for the list. These aren't my go to genre. Have a great weekend Friend over the pond.

A very interesting selection of books! I read the Tuttle twins book based on the road to serfdom, and I feel like I’ve read the abolition of man, but I can’t remember.

I've never heard of the Tuttle Twins. Is this a homeschool curriculum?

Good selection of books! The Republic of Plato was required reading for my college philosophy class. I gave it a good try, but did not finish it. I remember sitting by the Yuba River near Downieville, on a big rock, trying to read it. My little 18 year old brain didn't expand that far.

It sounds like a nice memory and a great place to read a book, even though you didn't finish it. 🤗

Yes, I'm sure that one was printed when you ordered it. That's how Amazon does the self-published books. And a lot of these classic/older works are public domain and are published by different people through there. So it's a print on demand service.

Thank you! I like thinking that book was published just for my order. Especiallly since the book is old and out of print, but still available. Imagine if I had to order an old edition. It would probably be hundreds of dollars.

That is a very interesting pile of books. However, it's not really my genre. But I am interested in you and C.S. Lewis. I will stalk your videos and see what going on. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it as usual. Sorry about your Nail. -James & Bella!

I'll save you the time in trying to search the video. Lewis was more of a philosopher than a follower of Christ, which scripture says not to do. Colossians 2:8 When I first read Mere Christianity I liked it. But then I read the Bible a few times before re-reading Mere Chrisitianity and realized how wrong it is. I tore up my copy and threw it in the trash. The books are for a cause to improve education. The youth are our future and sadly a lot of them are extremely ignorant.
