Jackson says he loves Texas … but Oregon and Idaho are both spectacularly scenic! So i don’t believe him 😜
@houstontexasliving333 күн бұрын
Haha, it sounds like Jackson might be a bit biased toward Texas! While Texas definitely has its own charm with vast landscapes, southern hospitality, and amazing food, Oregon and Idaho are both stunning in their own right, especially for anyone who loves nature and outdoor adventures. From Oregon’s lush forests and coastline to Idaho’s majestic mountains and crystal-clear lakes, it's tough to argue against their beauty. Maybe Jackson just hasn’t explored enough of those states yet! 😜 Have you ever thought about living in one of those places, or is Texas still the top contender for you?

U can see were they cut corners but beautiful homes love rear garages
@houstontexasliving3323 күн бұрын
Rear garages definitely add a unique aesthetic and functionality to a home, giving the front a cleaner and more polished curb appeal. However, it's true that in some cases, the design may reveal areas where corners have been cut. These can include thinner materials, simplified finishes, or less detail in the craftsmanship. If you're considering homes with rear garages, it's worth paying close attention to things like: Driveway Quality - Ensure it’s wide and durable enough for regular use. Garage Space - Some rear-entry garages can feel cramped compared to traditional front-entry setups. Materials and Finishes - Look for quality in cabinetry, flooring, and fixtures. Curb Appeal vs. Durability - Sometimes a home can look great but lack resilience over time. Would you like a list of builders known for high-quality rear garage designs, or do you have any specific concerns you'd like help with?

Beautiful homes thank you for showing these lovely affordable homes. I especially love the Highland farmhouse one story style. Can you please tell me the name of the floor plan ? Thank you so much.
@houstontexasliving3323 күн бұрын
The Highland Farmhouse one-story style is indeed stunning! I don't have the specific floor plan name on hand, but if it was showcased in one of the videos, you can usually find the floor plan details in the description or by reaching out directly to the builder. Alternatively, if you remember the community where it was featured, I can help narrow it down further. Let me know! 😊

We are planning our first trip to go see homes, do any of the builders do a smooth finish on walls and ceilings? We have watched most of your videos and they all seem to be textured.
@raulmiglietti163 ай бұрын
Thank you.
@houstontexasliving3323 күн бұрын
Most builders in Texas tend to use textured finishes, as they are common and often more cost-effective. However, some custom or semi-custom builders may offer smooth finishes as an upgrade. It's worth discussing this with the builders you visit during your trip. Let me know if you'd like recommendations for builders who might accommodate this preference!

How much was the David Weekly home with the apartment upstairs from the garage? And what was the name of it?
@Ea-n7x2 ай бұрын
Yeah, but that is the base price. I'm sure the $437 does not include the loft. That's what I don't like about these guys. Tells us the price of home as it is shown. Then tell us the base price and tell us what is included and what is an upgrade.
@houstontexasliving3323 күн бұрын
David Weekley Homes offers several designs with an optional apartment or casita above the garage, often referred to as a "garage suite." The specific price and name of the floor plan depend on the community and current market conditions. If you're referring to a specific home shown in a video, the best way to find out the details is to revisit the video or contact the builder directly for the floor plan and pricing. These types of setups are popular in areas with flexible zoning or master-planned communities. Would you like help identifying similar homes in your area of interest? If this neighborhood is considered in “Houston”, Houston gotta be the biggest city in the world! 😂
@houstontexasliving3323 күн бұрын
Haha, you're not wrong-Houston is massive! It's not only the fourth-largest city in the U.S. by population but also spans a whopping 665 square miles. To put it in perspective, you could fit several major cities like Chicago, San Francisco, and Boston inside it with room to spare! 😄 The Greater Houston area includes suburbs and neighborhoods well outside the city proper, so it's common to see developments labeled as "Houston" even if they're 30-40 miles from downtown. It's a Texas thing-everything's big here! 🏙️

I always wonder why American shower don't have movable shower heads...how u shower ( woman) without getting your hair wet ??!, Also well I'm from Germany... Is there possibilities to build with German style windows ?! They just make so much more sense
@houstontexasliving3323 күн бұрын
You've raised some excellent points about shower heads and windows, and it's fascinating how design preferences vary by region and culture! Movable Shower Heads In many American homes, particularly in newer builds, fixed shower heads are the norm. However, movable (handheld) shower heads are becoming increasingly popular due to their practicality. They’re especially helpful for tasks like: Rinsing without soaking your hair. Cleaning the shower itself. Assisting people with limited mobility. You can often request a handheld option or dual-head shower system as an upgrade when building or renovating. Some high-end homes already feature these as standard. German-Style Windows Tilt-and-turn windows, common in Germany, are not standard in the U.S. but can be installed, especially in custom builds. They offer several advantages: Dual functionality: Tilt for ventilation, turn to open fully. Energy efficiency: Superior insulation and airtight seals. Ease of cleaning: Both sides can be cleaned from indoors. To include these windows in an American home: Builder Flexibility: Work with a custom or semi-custom builder willing to source European-style windows. Specialized Suppliers: Companies like Zola Windows or Intus Windows provide European-style window solutions in the U.S. Budget: These windows are usually more expensive but worth the investment for energy savings and functionality. Would you like suggestions for builders or suppliers in Houston who could accommodate these preferences?

Typically, homes are sold empty unless specified otherwise. The furniture and decor in model homes are for staging purposes, to showcase how the space can be used. However, some builders offer the option to purchase the furniture as part of a package deal, though this would come at an additional cost. If you're interested in buying a fully furnished home, it’s worth asking the builder or seller about available options!

In areas like Houston or Katy, you can find homes with more space and features for that price point, which is one of the reasons these locations are so attractive. But does it flood
@houstontexasliving3323 күн бұрын
Flooding is an important concern in the Houston area, and it's great that you're keeping it in mind. To determine if a specific home or neighborhood is prone to flooding: Flood Zone Map: Check FEMA's Flood Map Service Center (msc.fema.gov) for flood zone designations. Properties in Zone X, for example, are typically at lower risk. Local History: Research the area's history of flooding. Communities in Houston often share experiences during events like Hurricane Harvey. Drainage Infrastructure: Look for signs of well-maintained stormwater systems, detention ponds, or elevation grading in the neighborhood. Builder Information: Builders often disclose flood mitigation measures, such as raised foundations or enhanced drainage systems. Ask the builder or realtor directly. Insurance Costs: Even if you're not in a flood zone, flood insurance is worth considering since Houston's weather can be unpredictable. Would you like help identifying low-risk communities or additional resources on this topic?

Thanks for your feedback! It’s great that you’re a regular viewer. Feeling like an episode is rushed can take away from the enjoyment of seeing the homes in detail. They are here for the builder, not so much the buyer. Not sure they will work on bringing down the price for us, if they already feel they are rock bottom. I wish they were more subjective to the buyer and what we are looking for. Great guys.

If you need more in depth information on these homes, see them yourself. They can only do so much over video and actually are doing more than most agents out there to show you what’s available to buy. Plus, “big” to you is different for others. To me, 1000sqft is big, but for others is small. It’s subjective. Give the guys some credit. Do you know how hard it is to make an hour long video for you, the buyer?

Thank you for your honest feedback-it’s always appreciated! It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of showcasing homes, but I understand how our descriptions might sometimes feel over the top. It’s a fine line between sharing enthusiasm and ensuring accuracy. We’ll work on making our commentary more balanced and reflective of what’s actually on screen, letting the visuals do more of the talking.
