very good video. 2 tips. Use your computer but get a capture card and a hdmi adapter. Better for storage and no file transfers. tip 2, raise your light above your head and the rings won't reflect through your glasses. put a cheap led (dollar store) on your other side if you don't have enough light

Hi! I apologize greatly for the delayed response. I think teaching adults is much easier to start with since most adults prefer to just have a conversation to practice their English. So if you're comfortable with striking up conversations with strangers, definitely adults. Even if you want to have an idea of what you will be discussing during your lesson then you can still send a message to your adult students before class. Plus you have to teach with regular Cambly before you teach with Cambly Kids. Hope this helps!

Hello teacher Daesha, do I have to record the video on Camnly app, or can I record it on my ipad and and attach it to my profile
@TeacherDaesha3 жыл бұрын
Hi Milly! You don't have to record on the app. You can record it and then upload it to your profile.

Hi Daesha, question can I upload pre recorded lessons on cambly or ?
@TeacherDaesha Жыл бұрын
Hi Monique! Yes you can. If you go to your Account Settings you will see an option to upload teaching videos. However, you don't receive any form of payment for doing that. Hope that helps!

I noticed in the first Cambly instructor video I saw the instructor had edited in videos of himself skydiving, traveling, etc. Is this okay to do? I mean, the guy is featured on the main Cambly page as the first video.

Hi Teacher Daesha! Thank you so much for recording this. Do you have to mention Cambly in your introduction video and if you don't, does that affect your chances of being accepted?
@TeacherDaesha2 жыл бұрын
Great question! I don't believe it is listed as a requirement for the video. So it should not affect your chances. Although, I think it would be a good idea to mention Cambly if you can do so naturally.

To whom should we address the intro video, the parents, the children/ students or to the Cambly Hiring Team????
@Cc-eq3ot3 жыл бұрын
Hey Daesha!I submitted the ticket and as soon as I submitted it they sent me an email saying that they were unable to match my profile with the needs of the students.Does that mean I was rejected? Do you think I should reapply with another account?
@TeacherDaesha3 жыл бұрын
Hey Cindy! Unfortunately that does means that you have been rejected :( I would reapply after altering your application information. Try watching my latest video on what to do if rejected by Cambly. However, I will warn that it might still take a while for them to respond since they are having more and more applications now.

Hii i got a question. I am planning to apply as a tutor for cambly and i can work about 3 hours a day. So if i set my 3 work hours am i going to always get hired by different people for the full 3 hours or can a situation come where no one books me for an hour or a whole day? Has someting like this happened to you? Please tell me.
@TeacherDaesha2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I will say in the beginning you may not always have a full hour of calls. However, Cambly does a good job of promoting new tutors. So I would make sure in your first few months to do many Priority Hours during the 3 hours you are on. Then as you gain more students you should start getting a close to fully booked schedule. Also once you are approved and if you are comfortable, take a look at your 3 hours you are on and compare them with Cambly Kids peak times. Cambly Kids has definitely helped me keep a full schedule. I hope this helps.

@@TeacherDaesha Thanks a lot. I have been searching for this all over but i was not able to find it anywhere. You really helped me a lot. Could you please tell me one more thing, do we get more bookings and calls on cambly original or cambly kids?

Hi, can you please tell me if Cambly is only for native English tutors ? As I'm not native. Thanks.
@TeacherDaesha3 жыл бұрын
Hi, according to the requirements you do need to have English as your first language. However, I do believe some tutors have been accepted on the platform with native-level English skills and not being actual native speakers. I will ask around to make sure. I hope this helps 😃

I'm qualified accounting and economics teacher (high school level), i want to join Cambly, but I am worried about content, I do not know what I would have to teach, whether they'll be some sort of work to give out or something. Like what kind of work or things would I need to prepare before class. I really appreciate the this video, gave out a lot of tips that I might miss when i sign up.
@TeacherDaesha2 жыл бұрын
Hi Thozama, you do not need to worry about content. In fact, I talk about things you can use for content in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZuaqIacjpisqaM . For main Cambly classes most students would want casual conversation or you could use some of those suggestions I recommend in the video I shared. And with Cambly Kids classes al material is prepared. I hope this helps :)

Thank you so much! I am 16 years old, can I be cambly teacher? Will it work the same if I become a teacher? I love learning about new cultures and languages and would love to share mines and I think it would be fun to teach English. I just don’t know if people will book a 16 year old?…and for the kids Cambly is that a separate app. I might want to try and work with people who are younger but I want to be open to everyone. I just feel more comfortable with kids lol. Would appreciate any advice!!

Hi! You are so welcome :) Unfortunately you have to be at least 18 years old to teach with Cambly. But don't give up! This link shares more info on other places you can tutor at 16 potatoblogger.com/online-tutoring-jobs-for-teens/ I hope it helps :)
