If you found out someone close to you had early signs of mental illness, what would you do for them and yourself?

I would tell them i’m here for them and suggest for them to get help by talking to a professional. But if they don’t want to i would make sure to be by their side whenever they need. I would also talk to them about my own mental health to let them know they sent alone because knowing someone has the same feelings and that your not alone is very comforting.

That's right make sure you shun everyone. Ok and make sure you throw that judgement call. Heights is ok to be afraid of and no really no one knows how someone feels. If they get a whole of you when you don't want it or do want it what I have learned is you do this stuff on your own. Friends and finding a man or who ever you gravity to is hard. It has nothing to do with mental illness. It has do do with the crazy society we live in and people just not caring. Good luck and who knows who you will meet and how they will treat you.its not all in the brain when you can't get what you need to go forward and have fun with your control freaks.

Social withdraw ❌ I don’t think I have been cancelling any plans maybe a few but I’m a busy person, but sense I’ve been scared of my parents I have tried to stay away from them as much as I can. 3. Changes in sleeping habits or eating habits✅I eat over stress but I also work out a lot so I burn all the calories and I’ve always had sleeping problems since I was 4. 4. Difficulty Perceiving Reality ✅ I have started having hallucinations and now some people think I’m on drugs and I’ve been daydreaming and spacing out more. 5. Increasing inability to cope with daily problems❌I don’t think so because I don’t understand what that means. 6. Drop in overall performance ✅ I have trouble turning in work it’s so hard to get up in the morning and I’m never happy anymore. 7. Unexplained physical symptoms ✅ I do dance 24/7 so maybe that’s why but also I like to use scissors and just cut my fingers (not to the point they bleed) but just put them tightly around my fingers. 8. Unhealthy coping mechanisms✅ I cut myself and pick at my skin. Hope you’re ok. Have a great day.

I’m really grateful that this is free to watch. It really became a therapy and motivation for me to fix my lifestyle, before I discovered this channel I’ve been through struggles a lot especially with the pandemic. I would always sleep late, woke up late and ate less that changed everything even my mindset and I had a very intense glow down. There were times when I would just lock myself up in my room and cry for hours, I lost my self esteem and confidence but after I saw a video from this channel about unhealthy habits I started to change myself, and now I’m doing great. The pain is still here but it’s getting better and more easier to handle. So for all of those people out there suffering from anxiety, depression, panic attacks, or whatever you are going through I want you to know that you can do it and overcome it if I can do it so can you. Please don’t lose hope, I love you.

Prithvija, Heal yourself. Reduce negative thoughts. Its quite simple like I have been doing for years. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts and anxiety For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10-15 minutes or more. Slowly negative thoughts will reduce and relax the mind. Deep inhalation is not needed. Whenever you are free during the day or night before sleep sit or lie down, be still and observe your breath. Being still reduces negative thoughts. Make the above practice a permanent habit to have a relaxed and successful life. Best wishes and prayers. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

Thanks & good job. I'm beginning to question the basic assumptions of psychology. Is the person or the society mentally ill? If a person is mentally ill because of trauma from toxic culture maybe the problem is external, not internal.

I really started to hate my family since they denied that I'm suffering and I'm mentally ill. I feel that I don't wanna take any step in my life. I'm really exhausted and feel that I'm gonna stay all my life like this. I really need help 😞😩

I know I need a therapist since last year but this year I was doing well but for the last months I’ve been having some episodes, but this video made me realise that I really need a therapist at this moment because even tho it seems like what I’m going through is not a big deal it definitely have something to do with my mental health. I’ve been having difficulty sleeping, I only sleep when the sunrise and I don’t know why, I’ve been avoiding eating and I’ve been exhausted even tho I’m not doing anything. I definitely need to see a professional

My self-harm almost never reaches the point of cutting--i don't recall ever intentionally giving myself a bloody nose, and only rarely do I even sustain bruises. That doesn't make it less disturbing. My family and friends don't often know how to react if something triggers me, because it's hard to imagine that I might actually injure myself, despite the fact that I have. My mom recently suggested that I look into getting back into counseling because I've gotten disturbingly open about punishing myself for no discernible reason. I agree and will talk to my doctor asap. Fortunately, I was able to schedule an appointment within two weeks. Why is self-care so difficult?

Gender dysphoria isn't itself a mental illness according to the DSM-5 but it can cause mental disorders mainly depression and anxiety but also disorders that can be caused by childhood trauma like BPD and also it's believed that a poor environment as a child can increase the risk of schizophrenia
