If you found out someone close to you had early signs of mental illness, what would you do for them and yourself?

I would tell them to get help and if they dont I'll try to help

I would tell them i’m here for them and suggest for them to get help by talking to a professional. But if they don’t want to i would make sure to be by their side whenever they need. I would also talk to them about my own mental health to let them know they sent alone because knowing someone has the same feelings and that your not alone is very comforting.

1. I would google them and talk to a close friend maybe 1. If I felt that bad, then I would talk to a professional

I would probably tell them to do meditation and breathing exercises daily and try and help them as much as i can but i might tell them to get a professional involved

I don’t want to be rude or something but not really a good advice for people who ACTUALLY have mental illness. No matter how much we “take care of ourselves”, the illness isn’t going to go away or the situation get any better.

My academic performance has been abysmal this past year. My grades have dropped, I lost a scholarship, I didn’t get into the right classes. I’ve been really hard on myself because I should’ve done better but these videos help me give myself grace. If you’re reading this and you’re struggling right now, if you made a mistake or feel like you really messed up or that you’re behind in life, please know you can always bounce back. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

That's right make sure you shun everyone. Ok and make sure you throw that judgement call. Heights is ok to be afraid of and no really no one knows how someone feels. If they get a whole of you when you don't want it or do want it what I have learned is you do this stuff on your own. Friends and finding a man or who ever you gravity to is hard. It has nothing to do with mental illness. It has do do with the crazy society we live in and people just not caring. Good luck and who knows who you will meet and how they will treat you.its not all in the brain when you can't get what you need to go forward and have fun with your control freaks.

1. Excessive fear or anxiety✅my parents scare me and I don’t feel safe and I’m always nervous 2. Social withdraw ❌ I don’t think I have been cancelling any plans maybe a few but I’m a busy person, but sense I’ve been scared of my parents I have tried to stay away from them as much as I can. 3. Changes in sleeping habits or eating habits✅I eat over stress but I also work out a lot so I burn all the calories and I’ve always had sleeping problems since I was 4. 4. Difficulty Perceiving Reality ✅ I have started having hallucinations and now some people think I’m on drugs and I’ve been daydreaming and spacing out more. 5. Increasing inability to cope with daily problems❌I don’t think so because I don’t understand what that means. 6. Drop in overall performance ✅ I have trouble turning in work it’s so hard to get up in the morning and I’m never happy anymore. 7. Unexplained physical symptoms ✅ I do dance 24/7 so maybe that’s why but also I like to use scissors and just cut my fingers (not to the point they bleed) but just put them tightly around my fingers. 8. Unhealthy coping mechanisms✅ I cut myself and pick at my skin. Hope you’re ok. Have a great day.

It could just be that you heard your name getting called one day and now it's kinda in your head so you're subconsciously thinking about it and it just happens because of anxiety and stress.. I mean one or two symptoms can't equate to a full blown mental illness, talk to your doc best of luck! ❤️

That happens to me sometimes. Not that often, but often enough for it to puzzle me. I hear my mum calling me from the other room, yet she claims she hasn't. One time I thought I saw a message from a friend on Discord, but they said they never sent it. I distinctly remember it being a question me about my thoughts on another person we both know, but that's only happened once. Idk

I’m really grateful that this is free to watch. It really became a therapy and motivation for me to fix my lifestyle, before I discovered this channel I’ve been through struggles a lot especially with the pandemic. I would always sleep late, woke up late and ate less that changed everything even my mindset and I had a very intense glow down. There were times when I would just lock myself up in my room and cry for hours, I lost my self esteem and confidence but after I saw a video from this channel about unhealthy habits I started to change myself, and now I’m doing great. The pain is still here but it’s getting better and more easier to handle. So for all of those people out there suffering from anxiety, depression, panic attacks, or whatever you are going through I want you to know that you can do it and overcome it if I can do it so can you. Please don’t lose hope, I love you.

I am experiencing all of these symptoms from a very long time and it's more noticeable now . My grades have significantly dropped , I can't do the things I was good at any more . I have zero social life . I even get weird physical symptoms like headache , fatigue , vomiting all of a sudden . But I'm so scared to seek help . It's just very difficult for me , people thinks I'm overreacting or making this up when I talk about it . Specially this month has been the worse . Thankyou for this

Learning there's a problem reminds me to continue seeking a healthier lifestyle. I don't want a diagnosis cause it would feel like accepting these issues. Ultimately i fit the symptoms to many disorders. My approach has been to force healthy habits, faking it till i make it. I have seen improvement especially in my social anxiety. Thanks to this, and a combination of the biggest thing I feared happening did end up happening - I lost the fear of "the worst possible outcome" and now feel so free and liberated. I am currently taking big steps in following my dreams, and I'm in a much better place! 😃 Things get much better once you lose your fear of failure and are willing to take risks

Haven't experienced that... does that happen every day for a longer period of time? If that is connected to some sort of stress or other psychological problems, that can be the reason. Also that might be happening because of some physical illness. I would recommend visiting a doctor if that keeps happening for a long time

Personally when im feeling okay i tend to eat normal and have all three meals, or at least 2, but whenever im really down i forget about food. I dont drink enough water, or eat enough at all,so i always have random weight fluctuations from it and it sucks. My metabolism is probably fucked cause of me constantly under eating, over eating and eating healthy. I also have an eating disorder so that only makes it worse.

Prithvija, Heal yourself. Reduce negative thoughts. Its quite simple like I have been doing for years. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts and anxiety For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10-15 minutes or more. Slowly negative thoughts will reduce and relax the mind. Deep inhalation is not needed. Whenever you are free during the day or night before sleep sit or lie down, be still and observe your breath. Being still reduces negative thoughts. Make the above practice a permanent habit to have a relaxed and successful life. Best wishes and prayers. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

Oh I learn a new thing, thanks. I didn't know for the connection between prolactine, stress and mental illness. That's why sometimes I don't know if it's stress or mental illness/disorder, or something else. I got 10 free session with psychologist/therapist, It didn't help me as much as I expected (depression and anxiety) Video helped me more than the psychologist/therapist. Sessions are too short and expensive, and take my time for not enough solution for me. I try to get better my myself, with video and comments. Edit : I read some comments under, and it break my heart to know there are many children who suffer, and parents ignore it. I am 32 years old, and my mother is same, ignore mental health. How to help all people ? Take care of your yourself and your mental health 💚

♥ I was wondering if perhaps you (Psych2Go) could do a future video on the "Double Standard" of putting family thru our mental challenges while being able to hide our conditions from the rest of society. Because it's not like many of us want to hurt the ones we love. And how can we learn to be more transparent without stigma and prejudice?

My self-harm almost never reaches the point of cutting--i don't recall ever intentionally giving myself a bloody nose, and only rarely do I even sustain bruises. That doesn't make it less disturbing. My family and friends don't often know how to react if something triggers me, because it's hard to imagine that I might actually injure myself, despite the fact that I have. My mom recently suggested that I look into getting back into counseling because I've gotten disturbingly open about punishing myself for no discernible reason. I agree and will talk to my doctor asap. Fortunately, I was able to schedule an appointment within two weeks. Why is self-care so difficult?
