I used to talk to myself all the time as well, as I was learning German. Unfortunately, I had no one to practise speaking with, so I just spoke to myself and also did a lot of writing and today I am fluent.

The majority of time I've been learning French I haven't had many people to practice speaking with either so it's really cool to see that your hard work payed off for you!

Koala Hugs I live in Germany and here the situation is really good. It is like corona was a long time ago. But in my home country Cameroon, Corona is still a threat and new cases be popping up too
