This is one of your best videos yet. Not so much for the clothing tips, which are incredible, but for the advice. My mom always told me to make sure I was "put together" and it is true that when you "dress up" for an event, or even to go out running errands, you DO feel uplifted and special. In a sea of sweatpants, pajamas as outerwear, and ugly UGGS, it is nice to see when someone takes the time to make an "outfit" and dress up a bit. You are such an inspiration and your advice and choices of clothes for the over 50 group (I'm 59), is valuable information that I wish more over 50s would pay attention to. Thanks Heather!

Be comfortable, functioning, neat, and clean. Buy mix and match for everything. Spend a little more when quality is needed, like work clothes. Spend less money on hanging around the house and in the yard. Rotate by season. Give away generously, too! Don't wear ragged or stained clothes except for at the dirtiest work you do. Great tips, I especially like the first two. I just can't get behind on Mary Jane (strap) shoes on anyone. The strap cuts off the foot in a way that takes away from the silhouette, IMO, and makes another area rubbing the foot in a way that might not feel great by the end of the day.

Simple style is best. Traditional clothing. All you need is good quality clothing that lasts. No wild prints, no advertisements print on clothing. Just simple timeless style. That is all you need from one year to the next. Avoid trends. Avoid the seasonal “go to”. It’s all a scam to get you to keep buying and fill the landfills.

Its all about proportion and line. I think that a plaid jacket could be cool if it was tailored to nip in at the waist or have an asymetrical look. Better a smaller plaid than large. My mom used to do alterations for me and I miss her everytime i could use a seamstress.

Thank you for your weekly tips. I am not real big on fashion but I appreciate your taste. I don't have the opportunity to go out much so I am more casual. But it's nice that you steer us away from looking too frumpy. I never cared for the plaid shirt look though I do have one that is very subtle which I like. The colors are pastel. I never wear blue jean jackets outside as actually jackets. I sometimes just wear them indoors as kind of a blazer to keep warm. I never used to have any but found one I really like and will keep it. They can be useful. I'm wearing it right now because I am cold. I can't seem to keep warm in the winter, especially as I get older. @andreamigliore66077 күн бұрын
My height is 5 feet and I find plenty of useful ideas from Heather’s styling tips. I prefer petite sizes, especially for slacks, dresses, and skirts. Even without petites, the cardigans, blazers, and tops are especially good choices for us smaller women. If you’re concerned that a belt may draw attention to your midsection, don’t wear one. Instead try pullover that extends just a little past your waist. Have fun with this.

Too late. I bought 4 beautiful and warm plaid flannel shirts from Costco for $9.99 each. They are very attractive. I am in my 60s and these tops are very feminine with a modest, "V" neckline (unlike mens flannels that button to the throat). And they don't show any cleavage like the top you are wearing (not a good look for a gal your age, by the way). What's trending is what I like. To each lady, her own.

My husband and I went out to eat tonight. And I saw a woman with her longer sweater tucked in on the side of her jeans. I might try that sometime. Because my belly has grown lately. I have some long two shoe horns somewhere in my closet. I need to find them. I did clean my closet it out. But I have shoe racks and think the shoes horns maybe somewhere on them. I usually have two or all three dogs around when I’m trying to put my shoes on. So I’m not sure the shoe horn would help. I wore a necklace tonight that is three strands. I forgot to see where it was from. I’m sure I bought it on eBay. I always wear my Apple Watch. And it’s so clunky. I have a lot of watches that would look much better. But I keep wearing the Apple Watch. I’m going to buy a new band and cover for it. And if it still looks clunky I’m not going to wear it.

The toilet tuck of shirts is not a good look. Having your girls hanging out is also a bad look with the turkey neck well exposed. A nice turtleneck is great in this cold winter weather. And we can all take a lesson from Nancy Pelosi and stay out of high heels and use pretty flats up to a one inch heel that wide. Broken hips gives you an 80% chance of dying within a year.
