You do see them at lvl60 fully ascended in arena even into gold 1&2 and they do seem to be tougher than alot of other defence champions. I don't know for sure but having blasted away at one for about 5rounds today having sat down his "tougher" team members I was surprised enough to go looking for build ideas.

Hey Ash! You mention these 'niche' Faction Crypt scenarios for a lot of champions in your videos. You ever consider putting out guides for 'Faction Crypts on a budget' for F2P players? I keep holding onto questionably good rares/free champs simply under the 'they can help me in FC,'... but can they? What champs should we be holding onto that are either highly effective in FC and/or have multiple roles they can fill so we don't waste investment/storage.

Apart from faction wars I think the only place where he can be used is clan boss. He can hit a single target quite hard and put some poison on it but except that I don't think he is any good.

I got soloed by Yaga in arena once (well kind of got soloed). He one shot each champ on my team one by one. Apparently he hits like a truck but if he has such multipliers then Plarium should not have made him a poisoner. Speaking of poisoner Skinwalkers seem to have a bunch of them.

Yeah I started the game around this time when Shaman was still being offered as a freebie to new players. I took her to 60, booked her out, and now I'm wishing I had those resources back to use on Scyl instead (I took a couple of long breaks).

Tainix will probably see even less use now that we have Abyssal as a (rare) healer for demon faction. His AOE-heal is not great, but still better than the heal from Tainix and his AOE A1 with a chance to apply block buffs is pretty strong, especially if you put him in a stun set.

Jizoh is a much underestimated epic. He scales everything off defence which he has a pretty high base stat for, which makes him very easy to build. His A2 gives a 3 turns shield and a counterattack to someone you choose, you might choose to shield up a weak squishy champ and the counterattack may well persuade game AI not to attack the shielded champ anyway. Note that the shield value is determined by Jizoh's defence not the defence of the shielded, so build that defence on Jizoh up for treble value (as his defence based offence, as his armour and for his shield buff too) - and if you're not sure that's really enough on the A2, then no problem as that is a free turn, and you can have another turn immediately (which instantly helps the cooldown of the shield you just used too - so when they say it is a 5 turn cooldown it is really as if it's 4 turn). His A3 hits fairly solidly, rolling round every 4 turns really (the skill says 5 turns but the A2 shield free turn makes it 4 effectively) gives a heal buff to Jizoh and a very good chance (80%, 100% when booked) to provoke the enemy.

Build him to lvl 40, +12 lifesteal set and no books: for almost no resources spent, he can carry lizardmen crypts on his own up to solo beating 1st boss with just that. Or, run him in your campaign progression team vs force stages. Same deal. Imagine you got yourself, say, a frozen banshee- slap him into your early CB teams next to her and give her his buff to both keep her alive and placing tons of poisons on that CB. He's a solid, survivable champ, honestly- does he get outscaled in the mid game and further? Yes. But, you can get a lot of mileage out of him without investing much. I WISH Yaga were anywhere near as useful as him...

I forgot to mention that the Jizoh wasn't on a team by himself. He had 1 ally which was a Skullcrusher who didn't get a chance to do shit. Once the Skullcrusher was dead Jizoh beat the crap out of my team.

Did you have any 60s? Very hard to beat a 60 without one if they're a defense type champ since they build tankiness while also building damage. You have to be faster and able to hit very hard.

I underestimated her too. Mainly because I didn't gear her right. You get her early in the game, when most of us don't know how to gear champs properly. Regeared her and suddenly she's so much more useful!

First 6 star for me was Kael and the 2nd was High Khatun. Definitely worth building Khatun out, helped me in a lot of places early game. But I currently don't use her except in faction wars.

On this level 47 guy I am doing a takeover for we are using either Siccia as the lead when we need accuracy and using faraken on those teams or we are using bad el as his lead and abusing the lower crit rates. Plus his skullcrown actually has super awesome gear for crit damage and attack% but lacks the crit rate. So against super super tanky teams that I don't need a speed lead for I run bad el lead, faraken, uugo or deacon and skullcrown and his ass went from bronze to gold in 3 days!

I had been looking forward to Dark Athel, because I was missing a good arena nuker and I saw many of her in opposing arena teams. Then pulled her two days before getting her as login reward. Ended up using both of her as food, because I had already rebuilt my Kael from Clan boss to Arena champion. Dark Athel seemed barely as good, but a lot more expensive than a starter champion.

Just to say it: I got Shaman in my first week. After that it was 4 months(!) until I got an actual second reviver in Melga, and my third was Scyl as a login. Not to be confused with a revive on death caster, no a reviver. So say whatever you want, I was glad to have Shaman and she was more usefull to me then High Katun ever was. Lordly Legionary... Had Coldheart by that time so Lordly was immediately sacrified for a rank-up.

I run dark athel in campaign, she ca clear 12-3 brutal in 8 secs. Her boosts actually carry over through the waves. Plus her aoe usually hits first. She can also clear campaign levels alone up into nightmare. You should try her forgrinding

You can use Yoga w/o book for CB.....enough poison. No waste on books....but just 5* chickens. If you don't have a poisner like OB or FB, you may have to use Yoga. I do agree his def is low. Probably the limit is 2 key Brutal and 3key NM...

been playing this game on and off for like a year now, only got dark aethel recently and so so close to dark elhain (i should really log in more frequently). Athel looked so good when i got her but she just isnt performing for me. I think it's the low scaling damage you mentioned? Just feels like i need to get her top tier gear and all lvl 16 for her to actually pop off. She basically is being hard carried by the rest of my team atm and only throwing her in for her aura damage buff. A shame really. You are definitely right about her coming into the game around the time you start getting better champs. I would have loved her earlier but at this point she just goes even with the people i already have at best.

Indeed, Yaga and Dark Athel would be a resource black hole to get them to a usable and viable state with the books, etc to bring down their skill cooldown time. My Shaman gets killed easily but when boosting her HP, DEF, C Rate, C Dmg, Acc, and Spd, her revival skill helps along side another reviver.

I was hoping to get masteries for Dark Athel and Dark Elhain. However, I liked the video anyway. And I trust your advice. I'll still play the"Dark Sisters " 😄, anyway because I like Undead Horde (as well as Knights Revenant and Dark Elves). And my in game clan favors usage in the Dark and Gothic asthetics . I pulled a dark athel from a shard two months before Im supposed to get her as the log-in Most of these free champions need to be given MUCH MUCH earlier. YAga and Dark Athel need to be seven day login champions. You get Shaman, Jizoh, Yaga then D Athel. You would still get High Khatun at the end of the first month. You would then move all the other champions up closer in the monthly pull pool.

When thinking about it, all the epic you showed are if you are unlicky with your pulls. Still have no reviver after 3 month? It's rare, but can happen, BOOM take the little orc. Dark Aethel is maybe the worst of them all, but if you are unlucky and have no decent AoE wave nuker to clear content, she is decent since the slow is good since it allow your support to have more time to support her, put her in a Stun set with 210 acuracy and some damage and she is servicable for an unlucky account.

Have you thought that with the champion AI fix the relfex set is getting an indirect buff? Like for example imagine a Tayrel on Clan Boss. His A3 is usless there. But you do wanr his A2 so he can be your decrease ded champion. But as you know his eternal problem is that his A2 is on a 4 turn CD but he only places Dec Def for 2. BUT with reflex if he only has one skill that goes to cooldown then that is the skill reflex is gonna proc on. So a Tayrel suddenly can become your Dec Def AND Dec atk champion for clan boss cuz with him not using his A3, its more likely that he keeps dec atk on the clan boss for 100% of the time

I am SO glad I managed to pull a Kael on my first account so I DON'T have to use Yaga as a crutch because I NEARLY did use him as a crutch for clan boss until I pulled that Kael which rewrote the map for clan boss on that account practically and almost obsoleted him. As for Dark Elhain I pulled her early on the Elhain based account (Go figure) but I never imagined I would get the Kael on it any time soon to balance the account out completely. Scyl of the Drakes she's still afk and I'm not sure I'll EVER find her unless they make some kind of fusion etc.

The second one is "IF you didn't pull an Apothecary" me on my second account pulled an Apothecary nearly a week before I got a High Khatun so...I have horrific luck with getting revivers so Shaman could be ok situationally but she's already not contributing enough that I ended up resorting to just using Vergis to keep champions alive and if they die they die as a better strategy than using Shaman.

Sad thing is, Dark Elhain's A4 "self-cleanse" not working against Tormin the Cold, because it have 1-turn CD, but freezing passive from Tormin haven't any CD. Classic picture is, you dispell freeze from Elhain, she buff herself and then recive to another freeze debuff from Tormin. It make sense, because in crazy RNG world, could be situation, where is infinite loop between Elhain's dispell and Tormin's freeze.

I used Yaga for 2 short weeks on clan boss. I didn't have a poisoner yet, so it did improve my damage output a bit. Then I got Frozen Banshee. Haven't used Yaga since.

In early arena, say up into Silver II or even III you will encounter Shaman. Ninety percent of the time she will be the last champion you manage to take down. Build her as a tank and, yeah, you have a reviver that can stand what the nuker's dish out. For awhile. But, true, after awhile you will find better champions to use there, but I have to point out that you will then still have a decent "filler" reviver in orc faction wars. Who can take a hit. If I hadn't pulled Haruspex early on I would still be using her in arena. Not everyone playing this game will pulls the "god tier' epics that get all the praises in the first few months. Use what you get to the best ability that character can be used.

I've pulled a few of these champs already. I use ghrush and dark elhain mainly so far, next reward is another dark elhain so could be a fun to run two in ice golem we will see. For demon spawn as soon as I pulled abyssal tainix was put in the vault and now I have tarshon for weakon aor and turn meter boost and defence I haven't used her since.

I'd say he can be useful in certain niches, but you should NOT invest in him right at the start. He is a trap because they present him to you as your first "Defense Champion", so a newbie player is lured into building him, thinking that he'd be a classic "tank" who will defend the team. Unfortunately, he is not suitable for that role, since he has only a single target provoke and defensive buffs for one other champ. For an actual defender, you'll want champs that do things like AOE-shield, AOE-ally protection, provoke and/or other crowd control abilities. He is sturdy and hits decently hard himself. He can be powerful if he is paired with a champ who nukes hard and/or AOE-attacks on his A1, because of the combined shield/counterattack he can put on 1 ally. In case you have Saurus build as your budget campaign farmer (with a lot of damage, but slow), having Jizoh put counterattack on him in faction wars will be awesome. Thus I'd consider Jizoh good for faction wars and the Epic Lizardmen Room in doom tower and maybe midgame Tag team arena if you don't have one of the very few champs that apply counterattack to all allies and have a good nuker to profit from his counterattack buff. But you probably shouldn't build him in the early game.

So much depends on the state of your roster when you get these login rewards, E.g: Shaman was an invaluable reviver until I got Gorgorab, so she's still at 50 and now a double act in FW with Old Hermit Jorg. Lordly Legionary helped me progress through mid-level Fire Knight as didn't have options like Coldheart & Alure until I'd reached 20. In contrast, Dark Athel didn't help me progress in Spider. etc etc.

The best place to use dark elhain IMO is Ice Golem's Peak or anywhere else were you get the freeze debuff a lot
