My grandmother wrote a Thanksgiving song...She was born in 1900 and had quite a sense of humor. Here is the song...(to the tune of "My Country, Tis of Thee"): My turkey tis' of thee...Sweet bird of cranberry...to thee we sing. I love thy breast and wings,...thighs, legs, and other things. My heart in rapture sings...sweet turkey bird. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone and thanks for the cheer.

I’m going with #1. My husband always got up early to go running and left me with dealing with relatives that started arriving as he drove away. I would then start drinking cuz, you know, relatives that brought their opinions with them to share like vol-au-vents. Thanksgiving, the day you are sooooo thankful when they all Uber away.

Thanksgiving was always the biggest Holiday for our family. We would all gather at my Grandmas house. There was always at least 30 people there in this small house. 9 months after Thanksgiving? Thats August? A lot of my extended family was born in August, and so was my Daughter.

It's the same for kids' picture books. I shelve books at our local library and I display the Celebration picture books. I only had a handful of books about Thanksgiving to put out on display! But there are a million books on Christmas/Halloween/Easter.

I appreciate the first song. My family is very much dichotomous when it comes to such things. We have the runners and the boozers. Of course some are one in the same. You can still booze it up after a Turkey Trot. You cannot however do a Turkey Trot if you start boozing the moment you wake up.

My cousin is the turkey trotter. I’ll get up stupid early and haul Christmas trees around the farm to try to be ready for selling to start the next day (and it helps with the one awful person who shows up WHILE we are eating thanksgiving dinner, to send them on their way quickly) but a 5k?
