There is no difference between waking up early and staying up late. Productive time is productive time as long as you don't waste it. I work on my side hustles at midnight and then sleep until 11am. No shame. The early bird can have the worm. I hate worms.
@tiddlywinks456

I wake up early naturally and don’t hustle at all, just enjoy the peace of the house before everyone else is up and running around. I prefer a delicious brew of coffee over worms. I’m not rich but my life is rich. I read for entertainment and knowledge it’s possible to enjoy both. Plus reading novels helps people develop more empathy for others which imho is very important in today's world.

I feel he should have specified to get stuff done after you wake up, when you mind is the most revitalized (whole melatonin, and other stuff makes later hours harder). As long as you have time, it's important to use it. I think he said "get up earlier" because most people only leave enough time to get ready and go to work in the morning.

I disagree. There is wisdom getting up earlier than you want to own your day. If you are up at 11:00 am you miss sunrises, you miss the hustle to motivate you. Variety makes better sense. Look how much kids do in a day. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Recently I noticed that in video games we really enjoy hard challenges, but in real life we usually hate them. They cause us stress, fear, doubt, etc. My daughter-in-law says that's because in games we get "do-overs", but in real life we don't. What do you think? I usually think of challenges as an opportunity to grow and find new opportunities for joy. Perhaps successful people enjoy challenges more than poor people.

Another thing is: in video games the reward is 100% guaranteed, in real life sometimes the only thing you get back is the experience of failure and how not to do something, which is incredibly valuable but not so appealing for many ppl 😂

My Understanding is the Gospel is the central message. Jn 3:16. So why do we dig into Calvin? Didn’t he cheat on his wife anyway? I don’t worship the idols of the past.
@j2jenison
@j2jenison Жыл бұрын
@@WatchingGiligan-hv1jy love your question and concern! It's definitely a good one to ask. For me, I understand that my faith and interpretation of Scripture have been formed not only from my own reading of the gospel in my local church but also from the work and study of Christian tradition that has come before me. We are always learning! The reformed tradition most aligns with my beliefs and interpretation of Scripture. Calvin is just one of those voices, but there are many. Other Christian traditions and denominations have voices like John Wesley, N.T. Wright, Thomas Aquinas, Julian of Norwich, etc. I find all of them helpful in one way or another, so there is unity within the Christian faith based on our shared understanding of the basic gospel message. However, there are still nuances that we disagree with each other on. (In love) We see the honoring of learning and traditions not only in the Christian faith but in culture as well. MLK Jr. and Malcolm X were some of the most influential voices of the civil rights movement. Sigmund Freud for psychology, WEB Du Bois for race theory and sociology, and Newton for science, are just a few other examples. Most people realize that none of these voices are perfect but they made immense strides in their studies that help us understand these topics more today. They are not just idols of the past. It is good to recognize and continue to learn from those who came before us! Hope that helps answer your question and I'd love to hear your perspective.

Some great insights here! Embracing discomfort is the pinnacle of them, IMO. However, I’d say distractions (social media, tech) seep into everyone’s life. It may be anecdotal, but my step-dad is on YT or watching Reels all day and evening and he’s the CFO of a large bank. Think about who’s on Twitter constantly (e.g. Musk, wealthy politicians, etc). They sit on social media literally morning until sleep. As always, thank you for the thoughtful and creative content. 🤘🏼

Hi Gabe! Your videos continue to be spot on. Just read a great book called "The comfort Crisis" by Michael Easter. It really ties into your "successful people realize that pain and discomfort is where growth happens."
@1eurolatefee
@1eurolatefee Жыл бұрын
That pain and discomfort has brought me to a serious skin infection (varizella) and I ended up in hospital for full 2 weeks. The first thing the doctor asked me was: How many hours do you work per day? I didn't count them at that time, I was just functioning to reach my goals. He gave me several anti-viral injections, he said my immune system was completely down. The scars on my body I kept from that treatment will remind me of that stress for the rest of my life. Now I feel so much better sleeping in, get time off whenever I need to, I don't do what people expect from me. This hustle culture is so sick in itself. Just to prove you can. I hold my health higher than anything else, any goal whatsoever. And it's simply not true that rich ppl get up early. They enjoy life and let others do their work. That is real entrepreneurship.

Hi! I found your channel about a week ago, and am already making several changes in my life, inspired by your wisdom. This in turn will make a difference in the lives of hundreds of the poorest of the poor here in India where I live. This is my story in a nutshell: Seven years ago I was homeless, living in my car. I had lost everything in life. I got a job as a hotel housekeeper and was making barely enough to survive. I lived in coffee shops after work, since I had nowhere else to go. One day I was in a bookstore and I picked up a book about Mother Teresa and started reading. I thought, “Surely I can do something for those in India whom no one cares about!” I bought a plane ticket and flew to India for the first time, even though I was still homeless. I had only $55 in my pocket for my whole trip when I stepped into the airport. I traveled all across India, looking for where God would lead me to start. I got married to an Indian who also had no money, but shared the same goal of helping the poor. We now have a ministry serving about two hundred families of the homeless, beggars, and leper colonies of India. Could you recommend someone who could help me create a better website and youtube channel page for our ministry? God bless you!
