im surprised WC missed or didnt talk about how Stanley Kubrick intentionally misplaced set pieces and items in scenes in order to make viewers question their sanity for The Shining. pictures, furniture, dishes and small items like books would appear in one shot, then disappear or change in another, then reappear in another shot exactly where they were before, doors would appear open and closed in varying shots, rugs or furniture like chairs and couches would be changed.. there's even a scene where wendy has the TV turned on but it is placed in the center of the room with no power cord visibly attached to it. he also had entire rooms changed, like the pantry size is different in scenes, notable bedroom locations are switched back and forth with no reasons and some rooms with multiple doors, had varying door numbers.

The thing about infrasound is that it requires a sound system with substantial low-end response. If you're watching the movie on a laptop and listening through headphones, you don't have that - but seeing the film in theatres, or watching the DVD on a good surround system with a subwoofer, is a different matter entirely.
@EvilGav3 жыл бұрын
Scrolling down to see if someone else mentioned this. Even if you have a separate subwoofer, the cheaper ones don't drop below 20-25Hz, so wouldn't play the sounds. There's also the slight issue that you would need an uncompressed lossless audio source for the movie - if you are watching it broadcast or streamed, the audio would be chopped with a hard gate above the infrasound level and then compressed to exclude it anyway. So to actually hear this, you'd either need to be in a movie theatre (unlikely now) or watching via a lossless audio version on a mid-high-end home cinema speaker system - which is almost as unlikely.
@cdarklock3 жыл бұрын
@@EvilGav I did say a GOOD surround system. I specified subwoofer because you would be surprised how many people buy a $5k set of surround speakers and just... don't hook up the sub. At all.

The thing about that fancy-sounding infrasound is that the average desktop or TV speakers will no reproduce those sounds. Usually 50hz is the lowest frequency they can produce. Quality home theater speakers, or even some headphones, can produce sound as low as 20hz, which is typically the lowest range that humans can hear. And yes, frequencies below that can still be perceived in other ways, but if your device isn't even producing those sounds, then you'll never experience the intended effect.

Yeah I saw the face in the trees when I watched Mid-summar but did anyone else notice the other druggie stuff that was going on? Like...The flowers in Danis crown were pulsating sometimes there would be random distortions on stuff and sometimes faces (welcome to "Blink-and-gone moments") dude I just always was like "Woah wait...did anybody else see that?" since I watched that movie with friends and thank god I wasn't the only one seeing that stuff X)

I had noticed the valak thing and that the rooms in the shining didn’t make any sense, but that’s it 😅

Love that horror films are getting the love they deserve by showcasing the talent of those who worked on them and how meticulously crafted the films are. Side note- Infrasound feels like something intangible. It's a sensation of something tickling the back of your eyes, like you cant quite catch your breath, like your heart has begun to beat irregularly. Think of it like evil ASMR. Just like ASMR some are more susceptible than others and it'll feel a bit different to everyone.

it basically feels like you are not hearing anything, but you know you're percieving something, the ears are activated, triggered by something, but you can't quite figure out what it is

The conjuring one... they fully reveal that the name was everywhere towards the end of the movie so that's not really something people shouldn't have noticed unless they didn't watch the movie at all.

I noticed the sound in paranormal activity.....it didnt make my more susceptible to scares but actually warned me when some thing was going on. was more annoying than any thing else. Most people under the age of 25 and people who protected their hearing in to their older years can hear the sounds. I saw these movies when i was post 25.

well when I first saw Paranormal Activity, it was at a friends house, he had this insane Bose Soundsystem and cranked the bass, so I think we all really felt that infra sound stuff hahaha
@WaddedBliss3 жыл бұрын
I love Paranormal Activity. But infrasound literally can't be heard by human ears. It's like our eyes can't see infrared or ultraviolet. They're there all right but they have no effect on our senses.
@FTZPLTC3 жыл бұрын
It's true that it can't be heard, but the video is wrong in claiming that it can't be *perceived*. We can hear the effect of low frequencies on audible sounds (which Paranormal Activity definitely has - the low frequencies kind of "flatten" the sound and give it that overloaded effect). But we can also perceive low frequency sound as vibration, particularly through solid object surfaces (e.g. your seat in the cinema!).

Yes, the below and above hearing of human ears... in regards to hertz levels.... I can hear. It's terrifying honestly. As I don't know what is causing the "vibration" I sense. Movies that use this, I will start feeling INCREDIBLE amounts of unexplained terror... my eyes start to water, and the "fight or flight" sense comes out in me. The lower hertz send me into fits of panic almost. And the higher hertz, literally deafen me.... almost like a "god" whistle. It's crippling at times. Old school tube televisions I could "hear" when power was being drawn from them... from several rooms away ... I could "feel" them on. And "dog" whistles, I can hear every single one.... deafening to me. painful, excruciating vertigo onset pain. Unexplainable pain. As it's a "pain" in my brain....

i love the channel, but my only complaint, is when they show a movie clip, especially in the beginning, they only credit the studio and not put the name of the movie.
