I interpreted the ending like this. Drew, who probably was the only person in that studio who had any faith, comes out of the experience able to break free from his abusive relationship with Max. Max, on the other had, who never had any faith to begin with, just this idea of being like the Angel Michael, learns nothing from the experience. When he see’s that blue check mark he decides his fame is more important than his friend or the people who he hurt through his actions. It would be interesting to see what they do if they do have a sequel though.

It is trying to stress everyone out and get the priest to leave them alone. It also says that if the possessed is a woman, then the priest must have several women of good moral character there during the exorcism. And that the priest is not allowed to recommend any medication without consulting and gaining permission from a doctor.

depends om the demon's goals. what if letting 2-5 fishes run free equals way more than that caught further down the line and maybe even your released fish getting re-caught at that time. demons are masters of the long game. kinda have to be when your in the sin game.

True. But they like to punish as well. And to top it off, this things got a vendetta against them. In most cases they probably wouldn’t force sins out. But I’m sure they’d be okay with an exception or two if they’ve been really ticked off. Confessing was part of the punishment using the gf for the tech guy and then fucking up Max’s reputation. Cause his need for likes and fame was the strongest weapon the demon had against him. It knew that making max confess would possibly ruin his career for good. And that’s all max cares about. Plus the it was about to use possession on about 3 million people and start the apocalypse anyways. So does it really matter if one or two people confess their sins? I feel like I’m the grand scheme of things it’s not gonna matter due to the amount of carnage this thing is about to cause and unleash on the world.

reminds me a lot of Malevolent and Demonic, both movies on Netflix right now. Malevolent is about siblings with a similar thing going on, faking hauntings, until they come across a real one. Demonic about a group of ghosthunters that are doing an investigation and come across the real thing.

Hi Foundflix! I’d really love to see your take on the 2013 indie movie The Borderlands, directed by Elliot Goldner. It’s a British found footage set in a rural village; a priest and camera man have to investigate claims of miracles from the village’s church. It’s a slow burner but the ending is absolutely brutal - to the extent that I still think about it sometimes. I think it was released in the USA as ‘Final Prayer’ - don’t know if the US version is different but for me, it was a good’n. Thanks for your videos, they’ve been a real highlight for me during lockdown!

As a devout Catholic. I knew automatically who they were describing at the beginning of the movie. It makes since why the Devil considered Max an essay target not only is he a fake priest who has a presence online but also a none believer so both him and his crew wouldn't be able to tell wait away who they were actually dealing with. The Devil just disappears at the end is probably because his plan succeed in the end. The world went to chaos do to the events of the movie.
