@@stephaniebaker6001 probably not, alot of animals that can do things like detach limbs rarely seem bothered by it. pain is a natural response designed to make us avoid certain behaviors so it doesnt make sense from a evolution standpoint for a necessary thing to hurt. It's like how your nails and hair: your nails and hair are designed to replenish over time and fall out/break off over time so it doesnt hurt as long as we dont try to rush the process along by tearing out your hair/nails before they're ready. Besides, invertebrates dont seem to feel pain the same way we do; I've seen a spider and several crabs that have torn off damaged limbs and barely seemed to react, including a crab that lost a leg and then came back a little later and seemed to nibble on it.

A big problem is that a lot of footage requires permission, and if they intend to cover 5 or so creatures each video like this, then gathering permission for 5 or so pieces of film can delay videos. Some people and/or organizations guard their footage carefully and it can take a lot of back and forth sometimes. Also, keep in mind that these are not the only videos they make, they have a second channel and need to do research, write scripts, and that is after they decide what to make the video on.

In a panic I quickly brushed it off me and jumped out of bed. I ran into the living ro and decided to sleep on the couch. As I try to settle down and fall back to sleep laying there looking at the hallway that leads back to my bedroom. I then see a shadow on the wall of something crawling down the hallway. The shadow disappears and I think maybe it's gone. I'm laying there frozen couch. I glance over at the arm rest and the spider is crawling up the arm rest towards me. I jumped off the couch at that moment and took my toy lightsaber I had at the time and started to assault the spider. Definitely one of my scariest childhood moments with an insect.

"Keep in mind, if you see one of these spiders running, they are probably running away from you." Charging my feet is a very weird way to go about running away from me. Just sayin'. I tried to be a tolerant room mate but I have to draw the line at charge attacks.

The pelican spider is Nightmare fuel for spiders, the way spiders are for arachnofobes. I imagine spider scary stories around a campfire, talking about the Stalking Long Necked Mutant from hell that impales you on his huge tusk-like fangs and enjoys seeing you impaled, struggling for your life, while the venom slowly does its thing.

Awesome video! I'm a fan of arthropods and two of these spiders were ones I've never seen/heard of before. The shape of the pelican spider has blown my mind!
