Generally speaking though it'll only liquify if the insect or animal it bites won't stop it for the next several minutes - hours depending on the size and how hard it is to liquify the inside so no worries. We're too big that it won't have the venom to liquify us and will take too long before it even liquifies us.

Hello! Fellow arachnologist here! What he is meaning, is the venom itself wont instantly kill their prey. Their venom has a paralyzing trait that will almost instantly paralyze their prey after being dragged in the tunnel. The paralyzing trait works very quickly, allowing the spider to liquidate the insides of the animal for consumption.

Part of the reason she’s so docile and not moving is she is nocturnal, like he said in the video. Nocturnal animals are slow and easily confused during the daytime, partly to save energy. They basically enter sleep mode and can’t fully wake up. That’s probably also why she didn’t close the trap door which they ALWAYS do at night. Really fantastic video

Fun fact: Trapdoor spiders are some of the oldest and most ancient order of spiders. They have remained almost completely unchanged for millions of years. In fact, ancient fossils of trapdoor spider ancestors have 10 legs instead of 8 which is something most other types of spiders never had, or a trait they ditched very early into their evolution.
