People are facing a tough retirement. and it's even harder for workers to save due to low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire in.
@SergioRomano-nj8eb26 күн бұрын
The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether l'll have sufficient funds for retirement.

It's recommended to save at least 20% of your income in a 401k.Joseph Nick CAhill taught me to estimate how much you should save based on your age and income. This is my fifth year after retirement. I’ve been following the 4% rule thing I saw on a KZbin channel, but this isn’t really how hard I expected things to be. After I cashed out a lump sum, I still have about $760k left, but at this rate, and with how the market is (we were putting money away in an index fund), I’m starting to get worried.
@Sophie-k6c28 күн бұрын
Amazingly, you were able to save that much during your active years. Not a lot of people can save that much in a lifetime. But now you are retired and depend on your investment, it’s best you redistribute your capital, so you are not left devastated during a market crash or recovery. To simplify the process, you could allocate your resources with the help of a financial advisor.

Retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs. Retirement choices determine a lot of things. The biggest key to a great retirement is to start planning for your retirement when you are in your early 20's. I started my retirement at 24, with plans on retiring at 57, had children late in life so I had to postpone my retirement until I was 60. The easiest route is to start with depositing between 100-200 each month in your 401K or IRA, then each and every pay increase after you deposit 25% of the raise into the account.

There is absolutely no way that you need 70%-90% of your previous salary. That’s completely false. 1. Tax . If you have a gross salary then you’ll be hit by at least 20% 50% income tax leaving a disposable income to pay debts, mortgages, school fees, commuting, . Those costs will be eradicated in retirement. Therefore a salary of USD will be $70,000 less debt costs .

I believe the retirement crisis will get even worse. Many struggle to save due to low wages, rising prices, and exorbitant rents. With homeownership becoming unattainable for middle-class Americans, they may not have a home to rely on for retirement.

You got it! Buying stocks during a recession when prices are down could be a good move. You might get them at a lower price and sell them later when they go up. Just do your homework and be aware of the risks before diving in!

@@MarcoWanner-h8j I agree with you. As an early investor in NVDA, AVGO, ANSS, and LRCX, my financial advisor's advice was incredibly helpful. Over the past seven years, she has helped me find stocks that have performed 10x multiple times. With her help, I've grown my portfolio to over a million dollars.

@@FostersCapones Your advisor must be really good. How I can get in touch? My retirement portfolio's decline is a concern, and I could use some guidance.

@@JacobReynolds-t7v There are many independent advisors to choose from. But I work with MARGARET MOLLI ALVEY and we've been working together for almost four years and she's fantastic. You could pursue her if she meets your requirements. I agree with her.
