What things have you quit recently that have helped to simplify your life and enjoy it more?
@devm17347 ай бұрын
Great video Simon. For me, it's not trying to do everything yo have on your To Do List that day. Focus only on the top 2 or 3 priorities. Secondly, not a thing that I have removed, but more about adding, I check in with myself through the day, to see how I am doing, where am I at, how I am feeling (perspective/reflection), and ask if I need anything to change/add/remove.

My recent changes have made big impacts in my life. I threw away the microwave. I ruck 5 miles with a 40 lb plate every morning to earn my breakfast. I jump rope for 15 min a day and kettle bell exercises for 30 min. I didn’t know it but I have a gluten intolerance. Realizing this I was able to get off two prescriptions. I do not eat processed foods. I still enjoy a glass or two of wine on the weekends but the weekend binge drinking is done. I sleep from 9:30pm-5:30am and consistently have 6-7 hrs REM mode. I read a book a week. My TV is now a stranger. I limit myself to one hour of YT a day and it’s for education use only. I don’t argue politics with anyone, let alone strangers online. I have largely left social media and following the constant news cycle. Doing this has had a positive impact on my anxiety levels and mental health. I exercise at least 5 days a week even if it's just a walk. I meal plan and cook most of my meals at home, which is cheaper for my wallet and healthier for me and my child.

That's exactly what I did 10 years - I didn’t follow logic, I asked myself about future regrets and quit a great job. I lived off my savings for two years, perfecting my craft. Hi, Simon, thank you for sharing! Good points, I wrote them down! What I quit over the years and never regret: smoking, drinking alcohol, eating meat, company of people with 'bad vibes'. What I ADDED on a daily basis: fresh fruit and veggies, moving/dancing, reading/learning, singing, knitting/crocheting, gardening, watching the clouds, taking pictures of the beauty of nature and share them with others, who are like minded. On a WEEKLY basis I added painting, playing guitar and recently Ukulele, nice company and a new language: Chinese (my husband and I love to learn new ones). At the age of almost 70 I’m thinking more about clutter … I don’t want to store more than I need, but it’s difficult with a lot of interests. I’ll follow you for inspiration😁. Love from Germany, Monika❣

Yes! yes! yes! I gave up meat at 20, alcohol at 36, and smoking shortly after that. After losing my job during the pandemic I found a way to not go back to dead end jobs I used to think were all I could do. Now I volunteer as a delivery driver to take free food to a women's shelter and feel good about my contribution. Oh, I forget to mention what i consciously gave up that actually saved my life: Choosing damaged men to fall in love with who would go on to abuse me. I only allow loving and kind men in my life now. I know my worth and believe in myself. Things I am working on letting go of now: clutter in my home, excess food waste, over spending, and procrastinating.

Cutting out alcohol 22 months ago made a massive difference to my growth as a person and my happiness. I was only a social drinker on a weekend but the negative effect I would get through the week was holding me back from things I wanted to do. Excellent tips you gave. Some tips that have helped me: 1. Never put off things that could be done today so you don’t carry that burden into tomorrow. 2. Strive to do what excites you to keep you vibrating at a high level. 3. What you put out is what you get back. Put out positivity and people will reflect your positivity back to you and you will in the flow of synchronicity. 4. Be yourself. You all have your own signature vibration and frequency, just be yourself, it’s too much work, too complicated to be an actor. 5 circumstances don’t matter, only your mindset matters. Keep your mindset positive.

I quit saying “yes” and “being available” to everyone who constantly come to me to vent about their problems…. I’m a empath and want to help fix peoples issues but what I realized is that people like to trauma dump on you and go their way. They never ask how you’re doing because they have become accustomed to me doing things for them. I never understood this Steve Jobs / tech-bro fad of wearing the same thing everyday “because it is one less decision.” How big is your wardrobe or how much second-guessing are you doing that you spend more than 5 minutes getting dressed in the morning? Grab socks and undies from top of stack, pull pair of pants from top of stack (or front of rack). Pull first shirt that goes with pants. Get dressed. Done. If you spend more than a minute deciding what to wear, you either need a better system or need to be much more decisive.

Seeing this video affirms me. Thank you 🙏 I quit nursing school 2 months ago due to financial and health constraints. I felt directionless. But recently, I brought myself to a journey of setting myself up for the best. I have been doing daily yoga, pilates, and I have quit sugar, dairy, and gluten and only opt for eating whole, unprocessed foods. And I never felt this beautiful and healthy in my life. I also donated many of my things that I dont use, i switch to minimal skincare, haircare etc. and that made such a difference to my previously unwise spending habits. Now I’m in the process of being a flight attendant. I do not regret quitting nursing school, knowing if I become a RN, it would have not fit in the lifestyle I dreamed of living 5 years from now :) I always keep in mind, my daily habits will determine who I will be in the future.
