The Nucamp T@b I think is actually my favorite. I think they made the most of all the space and it still includes everything with a nice modern spacious feel. Thank you for doing this! It’s awesome to be able to shop by weight since that’s what a lot of people have to do when they already have a vehicle and then need to add a camper. Thanks so much for making this video!👍🏼

Last year my wife & I bought a Sonic 149VL. It's a great little trailer 14' 9" and weighs 2960 lbs. I'm 6'6" & 270lbs and I fit in it nicely. The kitchen is in the rear by the door, the queen bed is up front, it has a small leaf dining table and full size toilet with separate shower (no sink). We love it. Thanks for the video, Great job!!!

This is an awesome review! We just bought the Coleman Latern LT 17B, identical floorplan to the Coachmen Clipper 17BH. It has a big shelf over the queen bed, an electric fireplace below the sink, the mircrowave is relocated over a slightly smaller fridge, and a window at the bottom bunk rather than the door. These little 17 bunkhouse trailers are amazing for a family with smaller kiddos!! I really appreciate your down to earth review of reasonable trailers that most of us common folk can actually afford and tow!

Nice review video. The NuCamp Tab 400 Solo is my favorite of these. I currently have the Forest River No Boundaries 16.5. Dry weight just under 3000, 20 ft long. It has a great u-shaped dinette at the front, surrounded by 3 very large windows, ideal for me because I always want to look outside at the view. The queen bed in the back also has 3 windows. It is very rugged built, great for boondocking.

Regarding the first trailer’s stove positioning- totally makes sense because before you talked about it, we were saying how awkward it was that the door swings against the stove. But since the stove is on the other side, that leaves the door area free to go in and out. 🙌👍

Nice roundup. I grew up with soft top trailers and Im not fond of the fold out beds on the hybrids. We have the older version of the Coachmen Clipper 17BH, a Coachman Northern Spirit17RD 3450 lb dry ( very similar to the Catalina). Its perfect for the 2 of us and tows pretty decently behind my Honda Ridgeline with a WDH and Brake Controller. Anyone looking at small trailers, please try to keep your weight well below your vehicle limits. By you time you add water and basics of life, you can push the envelope pretty quickly. Remember Dry Weight means not a spoon, towel or piece of T.P !!!

I wonder if you can opt out of the TV on the TAB. Very odd place for it next to the stove.
@RVBlogger4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer, I bet the TV is an option and you can remove it and not pay for it if you don't want it. Sone of these smaller travel trailers end up with weird TV locations. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike
@nucamprv4 жыл бұрын
We placed the TV in that location so it can be out of the way when not in use, but able to swing out when you want to watch in bed. You can certainly talk with one of our dealers about not including the TV.

Just a few comments if off roading 1) does the unit have solar or solar prep 2) if so what is the wattage & battery bank capacity 3)how many gallons of fresh water. Not worried about black - go poop 💩 by a tree 4) if no solar does the unit have deep cycle batteries & how many amp hours 5) u mentioned off road tires, but is it lifted & what are the clearances 6) was the fridges propane, electric or both 7) 30 amps for all? 8) did the toy haulers have separate onboard tanks for gas 9) what was cargo capacity for toy haulers

Hi BB, Those are all fantastic items to research if you are looking for an off-road travel trailer. Thanks for sharing so other viewers know what to look for. We don't get into all that detail in the video because the video would end up being way too long and people will get bored. We just provide a brief overview and then folks can do further research on their own if they see something they like. Thanks very much for watching and for your comment! Mike and Susan

Great observation, I also considered perhaps its angles that way so you can "face" the party, instead of the cook having to have their back turned, and because the breeze will have an easier time carrying fumes away from the trailer on the side. Your likely correct though!

We're shopping around and starting to research; I have to say I'd rather ditch the bathrooms since we're intending to use them mostly in campgrounds/public land where you at least have pit toilets available. I *would* like to know how they heat though; I like winter camping. Going out and hiking or snowshoeing on a cold day is awesome...but a cold unheated tent overnight is less so! Also trying to find small ones that can sleep two adults and two kids is harder than I expected. I don't want to haul a 24' trailer! Or pay for one.
@RVBlogger4 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, Everyone is different. Susan and I were just chatting the other night and we were saying we would never buy an RV without a bathroom. But we also know plenty of folks who stay at campgrounds with bathrooms and don't need or want a bathroom in their RV. Luckily - there are plenty of RVs to choose from. Aldo, off road capabiliuty is a must a long with 4 season.

@@RVBlogger I know right! I'm a premadonna on a popper's budget. LOL I have a 1500, so a 5th wheel is not in my "wheel house" Pun intended. I am leaning towards the Travel Lite Evoke X model. It has everything I am looking for. I hate to have to put all my apples in one basket though. The good news is my target date is early spring 2021. Unless Travel Lite reads this and makes me an offer I can't refuse. I'm an avid traveler. Mountain Biker and general overall sight see'r. I put on 2,025 miles in August. Montanna, idaho, Wyoming and Colorado. I can't wait to get to Yoesemite and Red Woods. An Evoke X would look amazing up there!!!

I am a fan of the R Pods. I've looked a lot (online) and always come back those. The 180 is my favorite floor plan. So, I like this R-Pod also. The NuCampT@Bs are great, but expensive for the size class.
@RVBlogger4 жыл бұрын
Hi Connie, Lot's of folks really like the R-Pods and NuCamps. We always recommend buying used so you can save some money. The first 3 years will be the most amount of depreciation so your best deal will be to buy something a few years old. And if you want to buy new - be prepared to negotiate. I don't know if you ever got an answer to why the stove on the Flyer Explorer opens that way, but it's because they make a model with 2 pop-outs, so the second pop-out would prevent you from standing on that side of the stove.
