We absolutely loved having the chance to learn about and experience a different side of the Maldives and cannot wait to go back and explore the more local side of the Maldives and eat some more delicious spicy food!

Local Maldives food, that is awesome. Wow, 6-7 hours by boat, we didn't know the distances could be that big between the islands. That is so cool, you got the guidance of a local to know how to eat. That is priceless!

Yeah, it is quicker by seaplane, but by boat from the north to the south the distance is pretty large and there are even different dialects from north to south. Its pretty cool!

Oh my gosh all the food looked good but your backdrop of the water and perfect skies make it. Even though it is a food video, you bring in the human element of those serving and we find out one getting married and the other visited his mom. All the food looks delicious!! The omelet and fish curry especially caught my eye! Those rice cakes looked really yummy too! Hassan seemed so kind and helpful. Loved how involved he was in the video and your food experience. What a lovely man! Sermir's gift bag from him and his mom was soooo sweet too! The staff seems more then wonderful!

You haven’t tried Maldivian food until you’ve tried what the real local eat. if you’re still at Conrad Maldives, please try their staff canteen (it really awesome but not as good as what you could get from local islands). As a local i gotta say the food served at resorts doesn’t represent the true cultural dish. Its kinda modified to suit europeans taste buds. So sadly you’re not eating the authentic thing.
