8 Me Made outfits shown worn with thrifted or purchased pieces from my wardrobe.

Hi everyone, you are probably just like me and wear your Me Made pieces regularly. In this video I show you how I wore my Me Made items paired with things already in my wardrobe, both thrifted and new items purchased.
I love a good thrift! And these outfits that I show you has made me realise how much I DO thrift! I just find it's a great way to wear the designers that I love without actually breaking the bank.
I think my Me Made items pair really well with these purchased and thrifted things and I love mixing and matching to get a genuinely wearable 'mish-mash'.
Do you do this? Mix Me Made with purchased new and thrifted items? I know not everyone likes second hand items, but I don't mind that at all... with second hand shoes though I only buy 'practically new' ie only worn once or a handfull of times and where I can see in the pictures that the actually do look new(-ish).
Anyway, I hope you find this interesting, I always like to see how the You Tube creators that I follow wear their made items so I hope you do too 😃.

I've been to Canterbury, but only stayed in Christchurch. No car and a short stay. It was December and freezing. The hottest part of the 2 days there was 8°. This was 2 years ago. Adult Son and I went to a NZ v Bangladesh women's T20 Match. You bet we layered up. I think I wore almost half the clothing I had with me.

oohhh gosh!!! That is a crazy temperature for Christchurch in Summer!!! This summer hasn't been as bad as that... but not far off!!!! I don't know if we just wont get a summer at all or if it will start later and end in July!

Hi Catherine, your medley of outfits you have shown us are fabulous, well done 🙂 I wear everything I sew, well mostly and do mix and match with ready made, just finished the Tesutti Eva dress and it is just hanging behind me reminding me I should never have made it as it looks hideous on me. Should have realised after making The Asembly Line Barrel Dress, I think I am just too short to wear a barrel style dress which I love the style....live and learn. So Eva dress will be turned into something else 🙂 Enjoy your week 🙂

Hi there Catherine, I really loved this vlog, I to buy some things second hand, but these days find like you almost in me made and play shop my wardrobe, as each season arrives , just to see what's there. Can I suggest next time you do this and please do, put the pattern company etc in print on a piece of the screen, reason I want to get a couple that you have made and maybe I'm slow, and yes can go into the written content , if I'm nit picking tell me. Sydney dress yes I have tried on one made by Stacey in my size and thanks I will size down, fabric I have for it is from the fine cloth company, not cheap but lovely and do not want to muck up. Yes I thought I was the only person that wore covered shoes in summer, 😂 not at home but out definitely, if I don't tx you before Christmas have a great one with family in your new house and city, regards Diana north of you now 🎉❤🎉🐸

I agree this kind of video is one of the most interesting although I've seen only one recently. You incorporate self-made items with good taste and your own style. I don't buy any ready-made clothes, only underwear, and tights; I also hate sewing nightgowns so sometimes get them as presents 🙂. The rest of my wardrobe is memade entirely, from T-shirts to coats.

Hi there, it sounds like you are the maker of lots of things 😃. I have made a couple of simple coats but nothing too intricate. Nightgowns; I have sewn some tee shirt patterns up in to nighties and I do wear those every night, but I can see that making nighties is not for everyone. It's not very rewarding... just practical 😁. Lovely outfits Catherine. It’s a no from me for wearing thrifted stuff - although i did get a pile of shoes from a SIL years ago that i used to wear all the time. My favourite was a high heel oxford type brogue. I have not sewn anything in a few years (my bad), but have heaps of patterns, fabrics etc., so i really don’t have an excuse. My most often worn me made though is a poly cotton dressing gown - i made it to take to hospital with me when I had son no 3, so probably made 32 years ago. It still looks as good as new - although i seem to have misplaced the belt. Admittedly, it doesn’t wrap over as much as it did back then 😂😂 Six months & 42 applications, later, I have finally found a job - yayyyy. I start on Tuesday.! Quite excited, but nervous about starting somewhere new again. It’s job sharing (part-time position) with another lady, so i kind of like the idea of a 4 day weekend every week - admittedly a hit in wages, but great for work/life balance. So me time might equal sewing time in the New Year.

@ sorry Catherine - SIL (sister n law). I love watching your sewing vlogs - for your enthusiasm & love of sewing. We’re similar in age and I can relate to a lot of what you say etc. There is only a few vloggers now i still watch - kristin of course & also ‘stitched up’. I’ll get back to sewing eventually. I do wear mostly me-made garments but I have some thrifted things and a few store bought things. I always hate the thought of going through everything. I used to fantasise about a capsule wardrobe but the work involved in purging the current wardrobe put me off multiplele times 🤭.

I pretty much always have a me made top on. I tend to make mainly tops but have made the odd dress which I also wear but generally just wear tops and jeans. On cooler days I chuck a ready to wear cardi over the top but want to make a few of my own.

Yep you always are wearing me made when I see you 😀. I know you are planning on a cardy... we need to pin down a pattern and fabric! Now that you have used your beige pointelle fabric on a sweatshirt.... you might have to buy some more fabric especially for a cardy... oh NO!! 🤣🤣
