I don’t know if this was intended or not but I always got a good impression of lotto from this scene. At the beginning of their battle, he says “let’s see what you got” in a way that actually sounds genuine. It gives the impression that he’s actually interested in the rap itself instead of just being disrespectful. I don’t know, it just gave me an impression that lotto wasn’t a bad dude.

Going first in a battle was always considered disadvantageous because you can't use rebuttals. After this movie, choosing to go first is now considered the most badass, disrespectful move you can do. 8 Mile actually changed real rap battles forever.

Battles are ass now they go real slow & tell story’s like what tf happened to battles like this ?
@afewsnakes Жыл бұрын
@@drewforrester8182 because, once you’ve done the same thing for years upon years, it loses its charm. If you’ve already heard 100 dudes rhyme calm with fucked your mom you’re probably good on hearing it again. Rap battles now incorporate a lot of ingenuity & creativity to get around sounding the same.

@@drewforrester8182 So tru. I mean i clearly do not go out and see live rap battles, or go to the Apolo or anything like that, but the majority of the "rap battles" you find on youtube is either dudes with prewritten lines, or high school kids just fucking around.
