You do know that Iowa was getting the ball back on that play no matter what according to the rules. So essentially him running out on the field gave Iowa 15 more yards or so. Not a difference maker in the game at all. Now Johnson dropping that perfect slant on that same 4th down pass is a different story.

at 9:26 i have seen this type of thing before. the other team has 4th down, they throw a pass, the defense intercepts the ball. but really it was stupid to intercept it because you just lost field position for your offense. arent the defensive backs aware that it was 4th down? he had position on the receiver, just knock the ball down. dont they coach them to do that on 4th down? in this game it didnt matter but i remember watching a college game, maybe it was oregon where because the defender intercepted the ball instead of just knocking it down he cost the offense something like 40 yards, maybe more . they could have had the ball in the other teams end but because of his dumb interception on 4th down they started deep in their own end

It was a STOOOPID penalty but it did not cost Minnesota the game. IOS unsportsmanlike conduct penalty occurred after the turnover on Downs, so Minnesota was not going to get the ball back at that point anyway. DJ Fleck's ridiculous penalty cost yardage, but not the game. Iowa won the game because it out played Minnesota. Full stop. I am in Iowa fan,, but I respect Minnesota and I'm glad their program has life now. Go Hawks!

Minnesota did not play a great game and still had a chance late in the 4th quarter. Credit Iowa for their sound defense. By reading a lot of these comments, it reflects as usual a lot of classless big mouthed Iowa fans as usual. Many of their fans have no understanding of how to win with class and not run their mouths with their ugly speech/words.

I've seen plenty of classless fans from both sides and from other teams in here, don't act like Minn fans are somehow above it all because they clearly aren't if you read all the excuses I've seen them throwing out, even you started off with Minn didn't play great and had a chance when all you had to do was say good game Iowa you won and leave it at that and tbh Iowa isn't very good this year, our offense is yet again mediocre and we only played well on offense for a little over a quarter but it was enough with our defense and even they didn't play stellar, they dropped two easy picks and gave up some silly long bombs that shouldn't have happened, so you could say neither team really played that well. The result however is that Iowa won and Minn didn't but Minn still has a chance to win a couple more games and make a pretty good bowl game this year.
