When you are in the car business, sometimes bad things can happen. But this owner or dealership knew this truck was about to break down. My strategy selling used cars and trucks is to inspect every unit I am selling before I put it on my lot. I will fix anything needs repaired. And when my customer stops by, I will take him/her on a test drive. After the test drive, if my customer decides to buy the vehicle, I will take him/her to a certified mechanic shop to inspect the car or truck for the second time. This is my strategy to make sure my customers are pleased with what they purchased. This guy knew exactly knew whats wrong with the truck and took advantage of you.

It's the pump they break all the time when people put stall converters in because they don't space the converter correctly and it puts excessive pressure on the pump either by being to far engage or not engaged enough and when they break every gear is neutral except park

Those single cab trucks come with 4l60e's if I remember correctly, so yeah that trans wasn't long for this world even in stock form. But good news is you can buy a used 4l80e that's still in good condition, throw in a shift kit and a converter and not worry about it again. Seen stock 4l80e last for years with 700-1000whp

Best way to check is get scanner to see if the solenoids are enabled in 1-2 . DO YOU HAVE STUCK SOLENOID? ALSO IS THE CONVERTOR WORKING ?Transmission issue ? But Id get a scan tool and get it to see if your solenoids are working . Do you have bad pump seals ? Bad torque convertor ? Get scantool first and READ THE TCM OUTPUT TO trans. Go to yard and pick up a low mile tranny and drop one in?

Transmission choked. Its the discs have failed. I just sent a 2003 Trail Blazer to the scrap because it ate two transmissions. I paid a backyard mechanic that owns his own shop to properly rebuild my tranny and he didnt do anything more than replace the fiber discs and the torque converter. I had MORE material in the tranny pan the SECOND time than the first. My brother thinks he failed to presoak the discs before installing so they probably scrubbed off on the steel plates. Not to mention the lines were probably still full of material. This guy got screwed because he never checked the tranny first before buying. I would have walked away from that mess.

Hey ItsJusta6. I have a Monster Racing 4L60E transmission that was Rebuilt when the original blew up for my Avalanche. What I like most is the Shift kit and High trans pessure. I'd say go to their website and buy a Rebuild Kit with a, Shift Kit, Corvette or Custom Servo, and Torque Converter and whatever else it comes with. Also just so you won't blow 4 drive shafts like I did get a custom built shaft with heavy duty Ujoints and have it balanced. My Transmission is rated at around the 1200hp or below, I don't even have a fraction of that much Horsepower. Trust me you'll love the Tire Chirps and the Heavy shifts, when you are racing the shifts truly do pull you ahead of the competition every shift feels like a wheelie. God my gears Hit Hard! Another big benefits is you don't have that typical smooth shifting exhaust note, people will know you're serious when they can hear and notice when it shifts.

I did want the 80 and wanted to swap it from a 2500 avalanche, that was my original choice but it just was easier to go the 60 route, shoulda done a 65 at least but idk Rebuilt was quicker this is also my dailer driver so I got some of what of wanted in time for school. Monster is literally the worst trans shop in the world. Their SS trans couldn’t hold the power of my stock Silverado. Sent it back 3 times for warranty work before I told them to shove it. Transbuilderguy is the best around for 60e or just 80e swap and don’t look back.

One of the best warranty in the business. When the 4l60e in my silverado went i got a monster, 100k mile warranty. When the 4l80 in my dump went i used jasper, second best warranty, 3 year 100k miles. Never had another problem with either again.

The same exact thing happened to me one day on my way to work in my 05 Silverado, 1 week after buying it! I had it towed to a shop they dropped the transmission pan and the filter fell off with it. The previous owner put the wrong size filter and I guess with the high Constant speed/pressure of 80 mph just pushed it out, cost me $350 hopefully that’s what happened with yours too.

1:05 1:11 usually there is an arrow on the gas gauge that shows what side, in this case the gas pump logo is on the passenger side, that's where the fuel filler will be

I had the same issue with a Silverado I used to own, I’d drive it for a couple minutes then once it warmed up the transmission would stop working, once it cooled down it worked again, no clue what went wrong, I just got rid of it lol
