Likely balancing because even though chickens drop tons of eggs that can hatch, they take a while to hatch so you don't just get tons in seconds. If they could breed they would fill a deluxe coop in a short time.

I heard it as "I before E, except after C, or it sounds like [ay] as in neighbor and weigh." Which still leaves Keith (which is a name to be fair and names are weird) and also...depends on accent. Excluding receives (which follows the rule originally stated) with my accent that leaves: foreign, feisty, and caffeinated. I have never heard anyone pronounce feisty as ay, but have heard ay in the other two.

@@shoopydoo6562 Yea, usually jelly here in USA is entirely homogenous and not as naturally thick as jam is. We do have jams here too, but its just jelly is the thing most folks buy bcuz its cheaper and more rdily available at any given store. Like, you know you can get Smuckers Jelly at any grocer in USA, but ya dont know the same for a brand or flavour of jam you like even if they have said jam. Tho ill add, bcuz jelly is so much more common here; its also quite normal for an American to call any jam a "jelly" even if its actually a jam. Bcuz the word jam is just the vastly less common word for folks to interact with. So like, if someone decided to take some fruit and a make jam at home here in USA; theyll probs refer to it as jelly unless they followed a recipe that called it jam.

Here's an interesting change that was made at some point between v1.3 and 1.5. Back in v1.2, when you went to bed at night, you could walk over to the opposite side of the bed and kiss your sleeping spouse and they would say one of several lines to you. One of the things Alex (the only big gay husband for me) would say with a big blush on his face was, "I bought a new pair of shorts today. I just thought you might want to know." So adorable. This was removed at some point, which is just sad, because one thing that SDV players have been basically begging for is for spouses to have more active roles and dialogue in gameplay, and not less. I don't know why this was removed: I tried picking up 1.5 because of the extra content and couldn't bring myself to play it because Alex felt way too robotic compared to v1.2.

At the end for the races we have pictures for the Goblins and the Fairies, the Goblin is the witches henchmen and the fairies are those that randomly appear at night and grow your crops.

Thats probs just an unintentionally forgot feature there since he joins the town later than the rest. Probs just forgot to add him to the list disgusted by it. Tho i also like the idea that since he fought in a war he doesnt look down on the farmer in the same way others do when they see you diggin thru the trash. That is, he has seen folks just strugglin and accepts that the farmer is just tryin to make ends meet (tho; if youre diggin thru trash in yr 2+, thats not rly the case usually and youre just a miser xD)

"I hate fake pngs" my guy i have a cure for this ailment for you: under google image search, just below the magnifying lens in the search bar is an option for "tools," and when you click that, one of the further options is to filter your search by color.... and one of those options is "transparent," giving you a search for proper transparent pngs and gifs. (You can also sort by usage rights, and find assets with open licensing so no one can snag you for copyright infringement).

We modern homo sapiens use it to refer to different cultural groups of HUMANS, while fantasy worlds use it to refer to creatures that are entirely different species (at a minimum). If Stardew is using "race" to mean "humans vs merfolk vs dwarfs", then they definitely aren't using it to mean "humans from a different area".

That is, like if the Denisovans, Homo Erectus, or Neanderthal had survived to modeen times by adaptin for much colder climates initially. That wud be one way they cud both A: still be human (all three those are considered species of humans btw, theyre just not anatomically modern humans like homo sapiens sapiens are) and B: Be seen as a diff species from the other humans. Theres nothin to suggest that is the case, but also nothin to suggest it isnt thd case. So its rly up to an individual to decide whether they feel Tundra Dwellers are humans or somethin else.

yes, jam is boiled fruit (often with sugar), jelly is a more gooey jam with gelatin (has a smoother texture), aren't preserves just compote?

​@@celestialhumanoid Preserves can be jam (fruit boiled and preserved in sugar, left chunky), jelly (jam but strained and made with pectin), marmelade (jelly but made with fruits high in pectin) or any kind of fruit preserved in sugar in jars. Compote can be a drink made by boiling fruit in water with sugar that is typically served unstrained but it can also be a fruit desert made in pretty much the same way but with less water making the syrup thicker(depends on the country). It can for sure be preserved like jam but in this case it would technically count as jam. In British English jelly usually means jello and they will typically just refer to US jelly as preserves, jam or marmelade.

@@vorpal22 just as a note I saw your comment about the meat, generally stardew is a tonally upbeat game like harvest moon and it might be a little shocking for players to come across slaughter, many people find fishing less confronting, I don't mind eating meat as long as the animals were well loved and had a swift death as its apart of life but as humans we have higher understanding and empathy and blah blah, that's a whole can of worms, Shepard's crossing was brutal mechanically, like outright some of the marriage candidates hate you even after marriage, you can and will die, and to many kids such as myself came across as quite scary but these are mostly fuzzy memories as the games very hard to find as it's English release was limited and I had it on a 100 in one game card that bricked

@@jaaaaaacccck I can't say I know anything about Shepherd's Crossing, so I can't say how traumatic things are in that game... I'm sorry if it was traumatizing to you at the time (and hopefully it isn't any more). When I was eight, my dad went deer hunting every year and my brother and I would help him butcher it, so we've never been squeamish about this kind of thing. (We are totally city kids, but my dad grew up on a farm outside the city we lived in. He would go back to that farm to hunt during hunting season because he loves the taste of venison even though he and my mom cook it soooooo badly. LOL the trauma was having to eat it after he caught it until I learned to cook it correctly.)

@@vorpal22 yeah I look back on it and it seems rather silly what I found scary but I guess having an anxiety disorder something triggered it, maybe because it's a pretty heavy game nestled amongst kid friendly games on this cart, I grew up in rural aus so I've seen a fair share of dead things, espc since we lived surrounded by ranches, and kangaroo are like deer but worse, I love animals but death is a part of life and the best we can do is respect them, which many large corporate farms don't, which is why I only like small passionate farmers, hard workers that care about their animals, I wanna have my own farm some day.
