What you forgot was that George Romero had bumper stickers with "FAST ZOMBIES SUCK" on it

I expected "The crow" to top, or at least appear on, the list. Alex Proyas is certainly no fan of the remake.

Does anyone like the remake?

I only clicked on this because I was certain was going to contain The Crow remake. Orginal movie director Alex Proyas's remarks toward it have been scathing. 😮

Leigh Whannel would've been a nice choice to direct a sequel to the CHILD'S PLAY remake

Didn't they steal the original story of the Lion King..... The White Lion?
@brunozeigerts6379Күн бұрын
You mean Kimba? The makers of the Animated Lion King claimed they never heard of it... and their source material was Hamlet.
@willijs8Күн бұрын
@@brunozeigerts6379 that's it...... but I call BS on that explanation.

@@willijs8 So do I. Even the makers of the Simpsons knew it. 'You must avenge my death Kimba...I mean Simba.'

I didn't get the Kimba joke at the time BUT I do now and I didn't make the Hamlet connection until my English teacher started mentioning each similarity one at a time, when I said " HOLY 💩" she didn't even get mad 😹

Box office success or not, there will be no sequel to the "Child's play" reboot. Since "M3gan" xeroxed that storyline beat for bear, too much greater acclaim as well as profit, we can safely say that vacancy has now been filled and then some.

I always laugh when critics claim that a remake (Red Dawn) isn't as good as the original... when they didn't like the original!

The bad lieutenant "remake" has the great advantage in that it was made by Werner Herzog..... And that's a good thing

I got angry at the Wickerman remake too because it not only didn't stayed true to the original but also didn't done that to it's own story. Maybe it was a dub error but 2 scenes that p/ssed me of the most was when for one cages character(I couldn't even remember his name till the end of the movie ) found out that his bullets where stolen, even though he checked his gun 10 min prior. The second one was a rollback to the original, that it's prohibited to say the word "dead" on the island, just to end the movie where everyone sings in harmony "the drone is dead". if you set rules in your movies universe, then please stay with them

There's also a 1988 movie called Spellbinder that bears a lot of similarity.

Can't believe you didn't mention the 2024 Crow remake in this list (I went into it thinking that's what prompted you to make it). Alex Proyas, the director of the original, was nothing short of scathing towards the notion of a remake, which he saw as Brandon Lee's legacy. He also didn't hold back his glee at the film tanking critically and commercially.

Yeah…the creators of the original Child’s Play aren’t in a position to be able to trash anyone else for “tainting Chucky”. They were involved in every single sequel (and thus were responsible for actually messing the franchise up with the dumb pivot into dark comedy and trying to make Chucky an antihero). The 2019 remake was actually scary and did an admirable job of going in a different direction with the general concept of Chucky (and even bringing back some ideas from the original yet sadly rejected conceit of the first film of having both pointed social commentary about the toy industry and Chucky be an outlet for Andy’s suppressed anger towards others.

Even though, on very rare occasions, a remake can be better than the original, I don't believe they should ever be done. If the studio believes that a movie should be back in the theaters, then simply put the original back into the theater. Whatever it makes would be pure profit.

Just wanted to mention Abel Ferrara did a remake with Body Snatchers. Of course, I'd never point that out to him because that guy's a friggin' nutcase. He's made of 40% drugs & booze and 60% fury. Great director, though...

I don't care what anyone says Nic Cage killed it in the Wicker Man, the scene where he snaps and just starts beating the shit outta all the women is top tier, especially if you consider all the othee movies he was putting out in that era.

Almost all of these are stupid as shit that anyone has something to say but the worst and most hypocritical is the lion king one seeing as they basically stole that movie idea from a Japanese movie to begin with , I'm sure the people who made that movie were probably not super excited to be straight up ripped off. One of the only ones on the entire list i actually agree with is the child's play remake and the only reason I agree with that one is because the series that it was remaking was literally still going
