Some of my faves (coming to my mind right now) were not quoted so here there are: Slow and steady wins the race! (Though Rome wasn't built in a day is quite similar indeed:-) Actions speak louder than words! It’s better to be safe than sorry Learn to walk before you run A problem shared is a problem halved Where there's a will, there's a way You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs Beauty is in the eye of the beholder 'One single being you miss and the world is depopulated' / un seul être vous manque et tout est dépeuplé ! (from the magnificent poem 'l'isolement' de Lamartine) Absence makes the heart grow fonder Bisous 😘🌹❤

I was lucky enough to find such a dictionary brimming with idiom in a thrift shop, because they are very rare newprinted , and - or because- they cost you an arm and a leg. You know what they say.. after I took a gander in second hand book shops... " Seek and ye will find " ( I especially love the old fashioned proverbs with thy ,thou , thee or ye in it , puzzling away what they exactly mean) 😊

I love your channel! Lots of these idioms are also in Finnish language, but the best one is "Once Bitten, Twice Shy". Translation into Finnish says: "Siperia opettaa", which means "Siberia teaches you". Which actually means that don't make the same mistake again. There's a historical meaning to this in Finland. Goes back to WW||.

Some great proverbs, here. I subscribe to a lot of them. Except for the first one, which I have changed to, "practice makes progress." Because, in truth, nothing can be made perfect. We live in an imperfect world. And to expect or strive for perfection is unrealistic and setting yourself up for disappointment. So I prefer to live by the principle of, "practice makes progress." It encourages me to keep going in the knowledge that I am growing the more I practice. It also reminds me that growth is a never-ending process, which is a good thing. Because it means that I will always have a purpose and never get bored or stagnate if I stay on the journey and keep practicing and becoming better. This, to me is a more realistic, positive and empowering philosophy. But, anyway, I loved your video. It came with such a positive vibe. And congratulations for achieving over 1000 subscribers. 🙌🏻💖😊
