A storm in a tea cup is an expression we also do have in German, though in German it's not a tea cup but simply a glass of water. 😄

Hi Kahtarine, Yes! Chinese-speaking people often say "I CUT my hair" in place of "I HAVE my hair CUT". Great observation! Cheers, Albert, USA

"My beautiful Dear Teacher Katherine, your video on phrases like 'skeleton in the closet', 'done and dusted', and 'waste not, want not' etc., etc., was absolutely brilliant! You've nailed it this year with all your lessons, and I can tell ,not only I, but many others adore your teachings👏❤️💐. You've made learning so enjoyable, and I'm truly grateful for everything you've shared with us. I know I’m just an hour away from Christmas, and you’ve still got a few more hours to go, so I want to wish you a nearly Happy Christmas to you and your newly married husband! Wishing you both all the happiness and good luck in the world.🙏💐❤️ And on a funny note - still waiting for that sound fix, haha! 😍😍Hopefully, it’s ready for the new year. Thanks again for everything, and here's to another year of amazing lessons. I appreciate you so much. Sending sweet, sweet, sweet hugs, loads of kisses, all the way, all the way from the beautiful island of Sri Lanka!"🤗❤️🙏 Hugs.xoxoxo Gams ❤️

Dear Katharine. My wife and I were looking forward for your videos when you did the honey moon's break. However we have noticed that in your last two videos the sound is worse than in the previous ones. Now it is weaker and less clear. In addition, the sound’s level is not constant, sometimes per several seconds it is very short and later it comes back to the previous level. I don’t know the reason; maybe you use different recording equipment than before or maybe you should revise its setup.

In reading English, is 'the' pronounced as /ði/, even though it is followed by a consonant sound?
@englishwithkatharine
@englishwithkatharine 2 күн бұрын
Pronounced thee if following word starts with vowel. Pronounced thuh if following word starts with a consonant.
