Marvel's "Black Panther" was a reboot of a golden age superhero of the similar name "The Black Panther" who appeared in Centaur Comics from 1941 until they were absorbed in to Marvel in the 1960s

I don't have to imagine, it happens every day now. At least those two reasons represent universal evils, while today plenty of people are "bothered" by a character because they do not have the "proper" skin color so they have to be changed to appease them. Also don't use the "proper" pronouns because we all have mind reading powers and know how every one want to be addressed as. Believe any slight is a call for genocide. So no it is not hard to imagine.

With regards to #8 Mystique/Destiney, Marvel actually left the CCA in 2001 and was then free to tell the story how they wanted. The CCA didn't dissolve until 2011.

Marvel would disregard the CCA prior to that as well. They wanted to do a Spider-Man story about Harry Osborn's drug addiction, but the CCA forbid the use of drugs. So they said screw it and didn't put the stamp of approval on the comic, selling it anyway.

Regarding the CCA- Thankfully, Marvel’s Stan Lee (and then Publisher Martin Goodman), thanks to a letter from the US Senate and the Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare, defied the CCA to present Amazing Spider-Man #s 96-98’s anti drug use trilogy- well before DC’s Green Lantern/Green Arrow #85.

Would "Amazing Spider Man Vol.2 #36" count in this list? It was already doing a storyline, but then everything got paused because of 9/11, and we got the Spider Man 9/11 issue. Everything picked back up a month or so later, but the comics just stopped in their tracks in that issue. ((I mean, with good reason. Marvel WAS/IS a product of New York City, and it's surrounding areas.))

It's not so much a slur as it is a word that has a bad association with black people. A "buck" is what slave traders called the men. Same as a deer. Besides, "Bucky" is a good name for the plucky teenage sidekick, but not so much for a grown man, so changing it was for the best.

There were many comics in response to the events of 9/11 at the time, and obviously the World Trade Center didn't exist in future Marvel issues, but no major stories were really pulled due to it. September 11th had a bigger impact on other media outside of comics like TV through, like for example The Simpsons having an episode that never reaired for over a decade involving Homer going to New York to get his car back, due to a scene gag that had 2 guys arguing from the Twin Tower buildings.

@@JoveJoved yeah, some of the stories then were...something else. I think some of the writers might have put a bit more of their own personal emotions in some tales than what was needed. We did get a really neat Sandman story with a kid contemplating suicide after losing someone in the towers having a talk with Destruction and Death over it so it wasn't all a loss though.

Actually, Panthers aren’t even an actual species, it refers to a group of wild cats that fall under a category called “Panthera”, this includes Lions, Tigers, Jaguars, and Leopards, what we know as Black panthers are Jaguars and Leopards who on rare occasions have a genetic mutation that leaves their fur coat black. In theory, if a Lion or Tiger also suffered the same mutation, which as far as I know have never happened before, we would also call them Black Panthers

Hell have a conversation with talos (or any skrull.) in secret invasion where they reveal that the concept of gender for the skrull is whatever gender is for the species they imitate. Otherwise it doesn’t matter and that talos is the father of one child and the mother of another. (What is the point of such high level of shapeshifting if you can not do that.)

i agree gay and lesbain people exist, i just think it unnnessicary to have lgbtq in comics. My honest opinon is that a character doesnt have to be gay or lesbain to be releatable or to be enjoyed by a reader i also dont think it appropiate to have childern read about same sex couple.
