@@joeymusic that would be rad! But I think the elitist mindset that people often had against Reaper is dwindling. Like my mix engineer, for instance, has used ProTools forever. But when he was showed the transient detector and editing tools in Reaper he was really impressed. Or the amount of times where he was like, “How do you route in this, bus, side-chain,” etc, and I was like, “You just drag and drop or click the folder button.” Haha

i love it too, but i wouldn’t call it easy to use, because of it’s nearly endless ways of customizing/adjusting/optimizing it. it is nearly impossible to find something reaper can’t do, but to get it to do what you want, isn’t that simple mostly. actually it should have a giant options button, because you have to adjust properties about every 5 minutes. reaper is probably the best software ever written, but i wouldn’t call it easy to use. the default settings regarding folder management, paths etc. are quite pointless and need to be adjusted

I mostly produce electronic electronic music inside reaper and i really like two of its features. First of all, reaper can do feedback loops. Just check one checkbox and here you have it. I use feedback loops as an ambient generating machine. It works especially well with filters that can self oscillate. Second feature i use quite often is an ability to record from one track to another. Lets say i layered a bunch of stuff, then instead of rendering it, i simply record an output from folder to a new track.

As someone who has to mix on headphones, the MonitorFX feature is a life saver. The frequency response correction plugins and room simulation plugins sit in the MonitorFX tray and I never have to make sure that they are the last plugins on the master bus not do I need to turn them off prior to rendering audio out. Best investment in a software that I have ever made!

Coming from Cool Edit Pro 2.0, Reaper is/was a great choice, I tried FL studio, Traktion, etc and I felt very limited during the trial periods, Reaper let's you get the full experience far before the rest, having the ability to open multiple tabs/sessions is great for drag and drop or copy paste, it's easier to reference mixes and it is a very simple program to work with. I'm no mixing master, but Reaper gives the user a chance to get an excellent work flow going far before the rest in my opinion 🙌

@Wergiftfresch3 жыл бұрын
I think what you want is achieved this way: open your mixer (e.g., CTRL-M). Look for the master track. It has a little (i) icon. Right-click. Select "dock mixer in docker". Now, obviously your docker can be floating as well, might wanna check the little ! in the bottom left corner of your docker, if it is. Right-click there, double-check "attach docker to main window" setting and one of the "attached docker position" settings. Hope that helps.
