My favorite gun is my Beretta APX it's probably a better pistol than a Glock. However, I recently bought my first Glock (g19.5) because of the ubiquitous nature of them (opposite of the APX) and love it. It would be my 1 shtf not coming home pistol to grab. Just buy more guns. Buy them all. Buy as many as you can.

I am never buying another plastic-framed, Browning-action, striker-fired wonder pistol ever again. I've found my "Goldilocks" pistol: The Beretta PX4 Storm Compact. It works well for me and has no negatives that can't be easily corrected. I had a Glock 26 once. I was never very accurate with it and I knew I'd have to spend another $100 to $300 in improvements just for the chance that comfort and accuracy might improve. I sold the G26 and discovered the PX4 shortly thereafter.

@@Briathos1 If you're looking at Walther you should seriously consider Canik. The quality is absolutely on par with any of the more well known brands. Canik actually manufactures autocannons for aircraft and .50bmg M2 machine guns too. They are making one of if not the best striker fired pistols on the market now. Mags aren't super expensive and there is an aftermarket. The new TTI Canik comes with a comp too which is cool and it's like $950 but you can get a normal Rival for $630 msrp or they even have a steel frame. The guy who has won USPSA/IDPA nationals for like 3 years in a row has been using a Canik and he helped design the current iterations. The Mete SFT or Mete Pro would be ideal for a "duty use" type gun. The triggers are extremely good. The Rival is good if you don't mind a bit of length. The Rival especially has a fantastic optic mount and very high quality plates. Totally worth a consideration at least. For the price you literally cannot go wrong. I have some videos on my channel showing my Caniks being fired including one that I put a comp on. So far I've only been able to put 100 rounds through the compensated gun but it was in -6 degree weather with -20 degree windchill with very minimal lubricant and cheap ammo and it still didn't malfunction. Overall I have around 7,000 rounds through my TP9SFX Rival and I have had exactly one malfunction and it was user induced because I overloaded a mag that had an extended baseplate.

I was late to the Glock party but once I got one (a G30), I was hooked. The reliability and repairability/maintenance is the best of any brand I have ever owned, and in the preparedness world, it's important. And last, I have a rotation of different sizes and calibers, different tools for different jobs. And with Glocks, from the G20 to the 43, they may be different sizes and calibers, but they are still Glocks. The MOS, the shooting feel, the trigger feel, it's the same. I can carry any I want and feel confident that my muscle memory and training are still good.

Here in CA, I might get a Glock 34 Gen 3 especially since I might consider getting into competition shooting some time. It has the best trigger out of all the stock CA compliant Glocks out of the box. I was also extremely accurate with it (about a 2 inch group on the bullseye). However, I will need to at least have that undercut job done because I do not like the trigger guard giving me that Glock Knuckle feeling. I'm a short guy but I have GIANT hands and fingers (especially my middle finger). Also, I'd change the sights to make it 3 dot night sights and also a light. I hope I will not need to remove the finger grooves as well.

(bring on the Haterade) Proud firearms owner here. Don't have an "arsenal" like many of might. Only been into firearms the last 8-9 years. Nerd by nature, prone to paralysis-by-analysis. First gun I owned...my paralysis-by-analysis narrowed me down to 3 pistols: S&W, Springfield and Glock. I really wanted to like a glock, but it felt so 'blocky' (echoing the 2x4 feeling in some of the research/reviews), S&W didn't really stand out to me... but feeling the XDM in my hand felt so dang good! They are all good pistols, so can't go too wrong w/ any of them, but I went for the XDM. Thought it was going to be my only pistol, was already somewhat expensive for me, so even though all the ubiquitous gear for glock was available, I didn't think I would want to modify my pistol so I stuck w/ XDM since it felt so good in my hand already. Still don't (completely) regret going w/ XDM, just as time has gone along, I do see there isn't as much gear being made for the XDM as there is for glock. That's really my ONLY issue about going w/ XDM. Refuse to buy another pistol until laws in my state (Washingstan) change or I move to ID.

Hence why we see all these cheap guns that use minimum materials, beyond a steel slide and 20c of plastic into a different thermoform. To be blunt he took 1870's bolt action tech, married it to a Browning-Whiting lock system, and added the same double stack mag we have all been copying since the Hi Power. The only difference is he did it cheaper than HK or Remington could at the time and has undercut since for contracts... yea that might be revolutionary, for a market that has been technologically stagnant since the mid 1930's.

I disagree with their claim on affordability. Every store I've been in lately the Glocks are the same price or more as other comparable striker fired handguns (many of which are better quality). For example, I've seen the Glock and VP9 priced the same but HK consistently has deals where you get $200-250 in credit towards more magazines or whatever else you want on their store. If I had a limited budget the M&P seems like a much better option to me.

Hey John/WPS team, I have a question, coming from South Africa (where it takes forever to obtain any firearm). If I were to need a pistol that could both be used for sport shooting and concealed carry, what would you recommend? I'm a bit of a smaller build at 1.72m 70kg (5'7 154lb) and was wondering whether you'd recommend glock above something like a S&W MP9 or a CZ P-01? Input from other people would also be appreciated. Also, should one visit the US, do you have loaner pistols for your courses, assuming a spot is booked?

I just got a couple for PSA Micros and swapping parts or combinations like with my Shadow systems CR 920, is fun. I have always been hesitant regarding Glock. But after buying, trying, and selling several handguns (s&w, beretta, sig) because I just wasn’t shooting them well. I couldn’t trust myself to get and stay on target in a self defense scenario. I bought a glock 47 for home defense a little over a year ago. Something about the grip angle just works with my hands. I am no operator. I go to the range only once every 2 months. It’s night and day how well I can hit 10 inch targets at 20-30 ft. This is my experience. Now I plan on getting a G43x for carry. 5:47 thanks for the diehard reference!

I give Glock a lot of credit for the revolution they started in handguns. But the other innovators have pushed beyond them while they sat on their “perfection” and didn’t really try to push their own limits. Most already do. But now with all the aftermarket upgrades for Glocks, or Glock knock offs, or my favorite way to refer to them, Glockoffs ... to have a custom grip, it is cheaper and easier to get a frame, it's cheaper to buy a machined from ground up slide than to send your factory slice to get an RMR cut. So I go a steep further, and advocate for everyone building a Glockoff example of the Roland Special.
