But heavier and more expensive to get modern solutions like red dots? Haven't shot one, but that's what I've seen. I'd get a 92 series for the cool factor, bot not to carry. Plus that massive slide cut out seems more prone to catching, but probably not.@@chapllc722

My opinion is actually a 27 is the best bet. Yes you have a shorter barrel(3.5) but you have mag interchanabilty between every non slimline 9mm/.40, from 9 rounds to 40 rounds. You can convert it between .9mm .40 and 357 sig. Get some basepads for your glock 19/17 mags and you end up with that same grip lenth. It truly is a do it all gun. Perfect if SHTF

Love you guys, and although my wife carries a 43X, I just can't jump on the Glock train. Started with Ruger (a fine pistol), moved to Springfield (many pistols), and frankly, money permitting, I'm going to get all aboard the Walther PDP express. Buying a Glock is like buying a chevy and spending 3x what the car is worth to fix it up. Fine, if that's your bag, but I'd rather spend half that and get a system that's good to go out of the box; just slap an optic on it and go. ✌

I've been a firearm owner for about 25 years and I just today got my first Glock, the 47. Basically a 17 that you can swap slides with a 19. I haven't gotten a red dot yet but it will also be the first handgun I put a red dot on. I've been gun Amish for a long time in terms of handguns. I just got to do some research on the right one. When I spend $300+ on a red dot, I want to make sure I get the right one. As for Sig vs Glock vs 1911. I now have 1 of each!

I am never buying another plastic-framed, Browning-action, striker-fired wonder pistol ever again. I've found my "Goldilocks" pistol: The Beretta PX4 Storm Compact. It works well for me and has no negatives that can't be easily corrected. I had a Glock 26 once. I was never very accurate with it and I knew I'd have to spend another $100 to $300 in improvements just for the chance that comfort and accuracy might improve. One thing to say to those who don't like them and prefer others - party on, dude! Like Sootch00 says, we are in the golden age of firearms. Everybody is different, you find what works best for YOU. They are just pipes to guide the bullet out of the cartridge and to the target anyway. And a cartridge is generally going to perform about the same through any of them (yes, I know, but I'm not splitting hairs on barrel length, etc). We all have to stand together in this war of good vs evil.

Here in CA, I might get a Glock 34 Gen 3 especially since I might consider getting into competition shooting some time. It has the best trigger out of all the stock CA compliant Glocks out of the box. I was also extremely accurate with it (about a 2 inch group on the bullseye). However, I will need to at least have that undercut job done because I do not like the trigger guard giving me that Glock Knuckle feeling. I disagree with their claim on affordability. Every store I've been in lately the Glocks are the same price or more as other comparable striker fired handguns (many of which are better quality). For example, I've seen the Glock and VP9 priced the same but HK consistently has deals where you get $200-250 in credit towards more magazines or whatever else you want on their store. If I had a limited budget the M&P seems like a much better option to me.

(bring on the Haterade) Proud firearms owner here. Don't have an "arsenal" like many of might. Only been into firearms the last 8-9 years. Nerd by nature, prone to paralysis-by-analysis. First gun I owned...my paralysis-by-analysis narrowed me down to 3 pistols: S&W, Springfield and Glock. I really wanted to like a glock, but it felt so 'blocky' (echoing the 2x4 feeling in some of the research/reviews), S&W didn't really stand out to me... but feeling the XDM in my hand felt so dang good! They are all good pistols, so can't go too wrong w/ any of them, but I went for the XDM. Thought it was going to be my only pistol, was already somewhat expensive for me, so even though all the ubiquitous gear for glock was available, I didn't think I would want to modify my pistol so I stuck w/ XDM since it felt so good in my hand already. Still don't (completely) regret going w/ XDM, just as time has gone along, I do see there isn't as much gear being made for the XDM as there is for glock. That's really my ONLY issue about going w/ XDM. Refuse to buy another pistol until laws in my state (Washingstan) change or I move to ID.

When I put a S&W M&P In peoples hands they would often find it a natural comfortable fit…especially the compact for those people who had small hands. I remember one lady who had never shot a pistol…I sold her the compact…took her out to the range and taught her gun handling basics and she just did awesome with that pistol. Never found that to be the case with any Glock. The grip angle threw many people off plus it’s just like a block in the hand. I have never shot that 19 again. When I tell people this, they say “you didn’t train enough with it”. My favorite thing about Glocks is probably the striker system. I don't know how many people know this, but there's generally not enough energy in the striker to detonate a primer when it is in it's at reat State. This means that no matter what goes wrong, the pistol is not going to go off unless you pull that trigger. By contrast, most other modern striker fired pistols are single action only, just like the old Brownings and colts from 120 years ago. The icing on the cake is that with Shield arms and PSA coming out with 15 round magazines for the 43X, that particular gun is about the smallest space you're gonna get 15 rounds into these days… And it's still incredibly shootable. I got the 43X as soon as I could get my hands on one, and have been shooting and carrying it ever cents. The only thing I don't like about it is that Glock ships it with 10 round magazines lol
