I remembered that 2002 World Cup. South Korea making it to the semifinal should carry a big asterisk. I remember what happened in both the Italy and Spain games, and even though I was supporting South Korea as the underdog as a fellow Asian, I can see that they got there with a lot of referee help with very questionable decisions.

I think the beauty of football is these mistakes, it make people thinking about it, arguing about it. Now football have VAR and now it's less fun. It's just like wait let's me(referee) checking it first. I think in the future the referee will be replace by VAR + AI.

One can only score a goal if the ball crosses the goal line. In the 1966 WC final, there is still no positive proof that the ball crossed the goal line. However, there is negative evidence that the ball couldn't have crossed the goal line because of its angle, direction, and spin. Negative evidence is not needed to decide on a goal or not. Logically, one can't prove what didn't actually happen.
