Red Bull Flugtag is a flying contest like no other, where amateur teams try to fly their homemade machines through the air and compete for glory. As well as trying to fly as far as possible, the teams also need to make a splash with the judges, and are assessed on their creativity, showmanship and flare for design 🪄 But it's basically a rule of physics: what goes up, must also come down! It's cuz the headwind pushed the plane backwards. He let go of the wing and it didn't go anywhere, which is why he pushed it over the edge.

I wish more of these groups actually flew instead of just plummeted to the water below. I was in Minnesota and watch the world record at the time get shattered. It was awesome! But a good 90% of the contenders just dropped straight down.
