the importsnt thing in life is NOT how many times you may have fallen but how many times you stood up again. I am definitely a sigma man but I never knew it. I am almost 83 and I can still adapt to any changes. Today I live in South America though I am a french-speaking Swiss citizen. Tomorrow I could esasily life anywhere on the planet. I speak very fluently 8 languages. I am an economist and I have travelled for business around the whole planet during 57 of my more than 82 years. I am still learning new languages and giving courses. I can definitely relate being a Sigma male, some may think I'm a loner but I'm not. I can just handle things on my own. A lot of girls have interest in me but 35 still single, i've dated couple of girls but it didnt work out at the end the way I wanted but still respected by all my ex's. When I worked Pipeline I was quiet and surrounded by loud mouth mostly wanna be Alphas. I was also one of the older guys on the crew. I worked hard and got stuff done. My boss actually gave me new people to train because I had good knack for it. I had a younger lady that put with me to train and at the end of the job she said she loved having me as a trainer. She said you lead people without being nasty about it. She said that I should try for a management position with the company. I said thank you but I wasn’t interested in the politics of that kind of position. I now run a successful plumbing and drain cleaning business. By myself and am done with the corporate world.

I was always told I was a lone wolf, I take pride in that. Liking solidarity does not make you antisocial, it just means you prefer to be in peace by yourself. It shone a light on who I am. I live alone with my Dutch Shepherd, quiet, my mind is always racing plotting planning especially in this day and age. When I was a project manager I never elevated myself, never dressed as a boss, everyone was equal. At meetings I would sit at the fringe and listen without input unless asked. At first I thought I was an alpha. But when I saw this video it's kind of intriguing, most of it describes my personality. Uhm .. when I was a kid I already felt I like to be alone, I made some few friends at school and do what typical boys do but I still feel different, friendly yet quiet. Did good at academics, may not be the smartest in the class but tbh I feel smarter than the smartest in our class(I mean it). High school came, made more friends. I turned to be this playful, comedic guy, laughed a lot, chasing after girls, a really social active guy. Been that way till college. But when I'm on my early 20s, when life hits you hard, I turned to be this *antisocial* guy. I became more of a loner now. Friendly yet very selective. I socialize too but I feel "shutdowned" not really open unlike my younger years. I'm not selfish but I like to do things my way. Now I just want to be alone and do my thing. *Any thoughts?* I don't know what my real nature is. I think a person's behaviour is hardwired the day he was born. And it changes with the effect of his environment but once that environment is gone, that's when your true nature emerges.

It's important to note that Sigmas have the power to blend and adjust to their surroundings. Their drive determines on what level of the pyramid they stand. For example you can be a successful Sigma that challenges alphas or you can be a reclusive Omega Sigma it's all about your self confidence and if you have the drive and trust to believe in your own mission. Losing a sense of self and feeling lost is the biggest threat to a sigma. Without good attitude sigma's can easily be trash loners but with good attitude they can be extremely respected and desired. Try to be adaptive in a positive way. Sometimes a sigma does not want success they are content with a certain level of responsibility and relaxing lifestyle to recharge. So if something happened in their life that they have to internally process, Sigma's might feel most comfortable in cruise control for a few years doing a beta job until they regain their sense of self. Then when they get back their drive they can easily rise up and be a leader that contends alphas. The best advice for them is do what you feel comfortable with under your current life circumstances, don't take on too much reasonability until YOU feel ready and it's okay to be a late bloomer. Just because people place you next to alphas it does not mean you have to be, mimic or challenge them at all times. You can be chill and enjoy yourself and maneuver up and down the pyramid as you please when you feel ready to do so. Just try not to get stuck down low for too long as it gets heavier to climb back up.

I think you would get a lot out of reading Self-Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson...iits a famous essay that was highly influential, and still is. Very short, but it is a 'college' level read. The entire "pyramid" is a concept born out of insecurity to begin with...tbh, its a little childish. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with categorizing men's personalities for your own understanding/self-improvement. But i don't want people to think you can be locked into any category, because again, this entire topic is inherently baseless. This is the 2nd video I watched in as many days that describes characteristics and traits of a sigma male. I never knew or heard of Greek alphabet assignments to label men, aside from alpha or beta males, neither of which describes me. That said, these two videos blew my mind at how they nailed me. Now that I know they have definitions from Alpha through Omega, I am going to watch one of each to see if o feel like they align with me as much as Sigma does. Though this video is a month old at least, if there is anyone who gets this message, I have one thing to say: It appears to be a common misconception that everyone falls somewhere on a "gray continuum between extremes". In reality, there is a distinct split between those who favor group protection (the majority--like fish in schools), and those who favor self protection, for whatever reason (like me and stragglers of the same species of fish which also congregate in schools. I did hit all 8 .....in my teenage years... but I believe I grew out of it and now with a son I feel I draw back. I was a Ass.
