M.Brady and the top of the order didn't show up against Oklahoma and again tonight. You couldn't ask for better pitching from the Bruins. Stanford didn't care that they were swepted during the regular season they won when it mattered the most.

Yea , I think all of them are a slump , ucla wasn’t hitting as good the last few games but still good efforts and hits by others

@lionheart4529 I wouldn't say that. However, the problem with UCLA is discipline at the plate and timely hitting! When it counts. The pitching and defense were good enough to get them to the world series and beat whoever they played, but once again, the hitting failed them.

@@nele350c7 I’m not an OU fan by any means but their rival fan OSU! However UCLA should not have lost 10 plus games this year. Have you watched every single one of their games? They are somewhat exciting to watch. They lost the ability to finish and close out games the right way. But OU has been their kryptonite the last 2 seasons, you can say what you want. I wouldn’t be surprise if OU takes it again or the Longhorns. 🤷‍♂️

I would love to see OU v Stanford in the champ series. I think it would be a major duel between Canady’s pitching and OU’s hitting. Maxwell does well but Canady’s pitching rivals Maddie Penta.

Stanford has to come up with a way to handle Texas’ pitching staff first. They got shut out the last matchup against the Longhorns, and honestly, unless Texas counts their chickens beforehand and plays a sloppy game, I don’t think the Cardinal can get past the Horns. I don’t know that Stanford will be shutout twice in one Series, but I don’t see them stopping Texas from reaching the finals.

@@hunterrobin9929 I’ll be honest, I haven’t paid as much attention to Texas other than the post-season but from what I can see, they’ve made some devastating mistakes just like other teams. OU’s hitting is just superior to all others. As long as OU can get hits off, they are golden.

Brady and Palacios were very disappointing in this game and against OU. As Maya's coach told her: "As she goes, the team goes." She didn't and the team didn't. Maybe the weight became too much. To compare, in OU, Tiare Jennings does not carry that weight. Tiare was about 5-22 leading up to the UCLA game, yet she hit the game winning home run against UCLA. For the game Tiare was 1-3. To quote Coach Patty: She wants her players - especially pitchers - to play free and have fun (but no bobbles). OU players remember the Higher Power. Stanford studied and played Canady smart. Her game was changed up (literally) from the previous game against OSU where she was fireballing almost every hitter. They beat OSU, but Canady left very sore. The day of rest with rehab helped, plus a new change up plan. She reduced her pitch speed from 72 to 68, and threw more change ups. UCLA didn't adjust. The better coached team won. If softball had the same status as football or basketball coach Kelly would have been gone a long time ago. But it doesn't so coach Kelly ain't going nowhere. Good recruiting and the transfer portal is the way to go.

That's how HC Kelly has been doing that since regionals and it has worked. They only allowed one measley run to offensive powerhouse Oklahoma and still lost. The problem the last two games was obviously their offense. Two games, one run will send you straight to the airport and back home.
