Microfiber cloth. I use it to clean up glue from mixed media or card projects.

Hi Tom. Excellent video teaching people to save much money in using what they have at home ! - Just one point : to fix paint, I don’t use hairspray, because it may happen that, after a certain time, it turns, e.g., to yellow … Am I wrong ?

Hi Tom, I recently (2016) got a degree in illustration, I’ve taught art but not a qualified teacher (I wish I could still do it but I’m over 60), your videos make me want to! Yiu May already know this but I recently learned about a stay wet palette (acrylic). If you put several layers of blue roll (kitchen) into your palette and soak them then put some grease proof paper over the top, the acrylic then goes on the paper, it stays wet for ages, even without covering

I have discovered some essential tools for painting with oils. One is wax paper. When there is oil paint left over you can place it between a folded piece of wax paper. This keeps the paint from drying out for future use.

Thanks so much for the confirmation about saving glass jars. My sons teases me all the time because of my collection. However, I always have one when I need one. Also love the hairspray tip!

In my life there are many saved jars with many uses. I keep certain wide mouth jars, and specific ones are dedicated to my craft cupboard.

Most of these tips save money. I do all except for the last 2. I must get a rolling sponge, I have tried hair spray as a fixer but it didn't hold well.

Thrift stores often get bed linens, that have holes or tears that they are not going to sell. Ask them to put it aside for you and give them a couple of pounds when you pick up a big sack of it.

Fantastic! Have all of these and use them all except I don’t have a paint extractor. What a nifty contraption! Must get one. As usual, thank you Tom, this was enlightening and succinct as well.

I have all except a paint roller (I need to use up the foam brushes first) and cling wrap. I think cling wrap is evil--I seal wet brushes in plastic bags... 😁
@TomQuigleyArt3 жыл бұрын
Foam brushes are good to a point but am fall apart after cleaning. Yeah I mostly use the cling film for my palette, it’s massive so the only thing that would work. Thanks for watching

Maskin tape usually tears up my paper.... Is there a tip to avoid that?
@TomQuigleyArt3 жыл бұрын
Unstick it on your clothes first 👍🏻
@mauimorgan97572 жыл бұрын
A Hair dryer will loosen the tape and make it easy to remove or just use washi tape. Never tears your paper and gives you clean crisp lines on your border.
