I’m a new business this year and have definitely NOT broken even. Do I write off everything or does it even matter after I’ve reached that cap?

You definitely still want to file your taxes and you can likely offset those expenses against other income you have from other sources!

What do you like about Gusto vs. doing payroll through QuickBooks?

I've done research on customer experience between the two and Gusto has always gotten way better reviews from the biz owners I talk to. Gusto seamlessly integrates with QBO so there is no advantage to using QB payroll over Gusto even if you are a QB user.
