Once you start doing caves you realize how different this game really is I absolutely love the level of exploration this game has added at times you even get lost and stuck. I just did the maze today and was in there for an hour.

This right here, folks. There’s far less “hearty” food in TOTK, and NO Hearty Durian 😱 to give you temp heart containers. One hit deaths are back, even after getting 7-8 hearts. I played over 80 hours before finally finding my first Fairy, which now requires some side questing to get your armor upgrades.

As someone who completed BOTW less than 2 weeks after the release of TOTK, perhaps the most important thing to remember about TOTK is that it isn’t BOTW. TOTK still takes place in Hyrule, but it’s not the same Hyrule we played through BOTW. I’d “planned” on playing over the surface first, simply to obtain the map, but quickly discovered how bad a strategy that was. The player starts the game on the Great Sky Island, because that’s where most of the resources are. I wanted to avoid the Depths until I’d coins all the towers (and map), but clearly that doesn’t work because there are SO MANY resources that can only be found in The Depths. It’s a GREAT game, but I transitioned directly from defeating Calamity Ganon and finishing the DLC, to ripping the shrink wrap off and starting TOTK and WOW, I was not prepared for how much both Hyrule and Zelda gameplay changed. Most important advice: Understand how Zonaite, Zonai charges and Zonai crystals WORK. You avoid quite a bit of wasted time, as just about everything you’re going to need is in those Depths.

This game is so good but it’s so confusing. Like I don’t understand what I’m supposed to do what I can do and what I should do. There’s so much it’s overwhelming in a bad way. Once I get off the sky island I don’t know what to do

Sky Island was exactly what I needed to get started with this kind of game. While botw is sadly just collecting dust on a shelf… I wish there where a bit more direction after landing on the ground, but I understand their angle here. I tried to move quite quickly to a new area, as the first grassy field is just too dull for me, and it seemed to work. Good luck, hope you get the wheels running on this!

I tried refusing as well 😂🤣😭 I was so disappointed at least I used a rock just to test it. I was still disappointed though I have strong weapons I refuse to use because of this and also definitely saving all the time is sooooooooooo important. The enemies one hit you if you end up exploring. I eventually learned just run away or sneak away

Some solid tips as great as BOTW was incredible TOTK is way beyond that and way different enough that yes it feels familiar but there is so much more. BOTW might have scored 2 points higher on the review charts imo thats not the case in what I have seen so far.

Only gripes: The Master Sword is weaksauce once you get it compared to BoTW, in botw the Master Sword fixed the broken weapon problem and it should do that, it should be the most powerful, hardest to "Break" weapon in the game. It's the MASTER SWORD. But despite being told "It just keeps getting stronger" and then getting it back and finding its damage as low as 20 dmg and it breaking just about as frequently as a knight's broadsword just feels sad. Its sad because it feels like its this way because they made the fuse system... the Master Sword should not ALSO rely on that fuse system, it should be the exception to the rule just like the non-corrupted weapons SHOULD be but aren't. Or, if you want to keep the fuse system even with The Master Sword make its fusions different, like in one image of a title thing or something (may've been the opening after you jump and get "TEARS OF THE KINGDOM!" with epic music) I saw the sword have an extra light "blade" coming off the end of it like it was a normal extension. Let fusions with The Master Sword make it have a wholly unique look to what the other weapons in the game had, that would fix it for me, but Nintendo won't hear these complaints or rectify them, so I'll just have to enjoy the game for what it is and use the Master Sword for back decoration during cutscenes.

@@galacares2765 actually it's been found out that it's longer than 3 years already it's most likely been closer to 10 or 8 years later mostly because if you go to Tarrytown the Hudson family has a kid that's going to gerudo town and if you remember breath of the wild it stated that children specifically girls are sent to gerudo town when they are old enough such as 8 or 10 years old

Incase you haven't figured it out yet, go into your menu and select the weapon, you'll see the button there to defuse

The game leaked 2 weeks ago and then was uploaded online as a ROM. Illegally, Pirates have been playing it for 2 weeks already. Legally, some created Australian nintendo accounts and downloaded the game on those accounts to receive access a day early due to time zone differences. Others like myself are still waiting for their physical copies to arrive tomorrow. Guess I'll be avoiding all media today since no one seems to care if they ruin and spoil the game and it's content for the people who waited patiently for release day.

With more emphasis on fashion I hope for one thing the inventory is going to be much bigger in clothing not a category that you can expand in BOTW but I have already reached a limit where I can't complete other sets without removing other things and the one item I have duplicated is a pair of hylian pants to look like blue jeans that aren't ragged but that still wouldn't give me enough space to complete the sets and I've already removed all of the mask from Kilton

Honestly, I just unsubbed from him. I am so tired of people always feeling the need to be negative. Its one thing to say a negative thing but they always need to be, I dont get it. How does it help anybody to say that he doesnt think the dungeons are the best thing ever? This is made out to be a video of useful things then he throws out a pointless and subjective complaint? He doesnt need to temper our expectations. Just let people find out for themselves since it is so subjective. I just want to find somebody who can keep the negatives to the minimum and in their place. Another example is how something was done in TOTK and for some reason people constantly need to remind us how it was in BOTW and complain before mentioning it in TOTK. You dont always have to do that. You can just enjoy and let people enjoy TOTK stuff without having to always compare it to BOTW. Its its own game, sigh... Comparisons are one once in awhile, in a video specifically about them, but its all so overdone.
