@LivinginFortCollinsColorado Oh I like living in Fort Collins just fine but it's your job to fluff it up and make it sound greater than it is. It is a beautiful city with lovely people. But the truth is that it has it's share of the underside and downfalls that other places have too. I've lived here 30+ years and I wouldn't do it over again. The schools are awful for kids who need just a bit more. There is an 'element ' that runs the streets. It's very expensive to live here and always has been. These things are typical of cities all over. One should take the common sense approach and really research when thinking about where to relocate to. 😁🤣

Been here since 2015. Came here from the NY/NJ area. Was surprised to see the culinary diversity here. Not terribly wide-ranging, but noteworthy. Love Bawartchi for Indian. Tararine is my new favorite for Thai.

One thing I think people should know before they move to the Front Range is that air quality is an issue these days. Almost every day in the summer there is an ozone warning. Recently there have been times when air quality has been reported to be within the top five worst in the WORLD.

Yes, when there are wildfires it can be pretty rough! The other factors (traffic, oil/gas) and others, I believe the city of Fort Collins and surrounding municipalities are actively working on it. 15-Minute city plan, Climate action plan 80% by 2030 and net neutral by 2050, active modes plans etc. I believe we are controlling what we can control. Thank you for your comment!

Some people care about their yards but it big time depends on what neighborhood you live in. I've lived in some where 50% of the yards are nothing but weeds. Pouring fresh water (a limited resource in case you forgot) on grass because it looks and feels nice should be illegal. Moved here from Texas 10 years ago, moved to Washington state last year, moving back to Fort Collins this summer.

@@georgesawtooth yeah, blame transplants rather than educating yourself on the actual reasons why we have water shortages in this country.

What I would add is that drivers are terrible. Running red lights seems to be the norm. There are some man-made bodies of water but usually no public area to enjoy the water. Living at this altitude with mid-90 to over 100 degrees almost every day in July and August can be tiring if you are not a sun worshiper and because we have little rainfall, irrigation is a must to keep things green. Home prices are high.
@izzibrahimАй бұрын
Lol YES drivers are not great. The city has a pretty cool plan they are working on to help fix the red light jumpers! Thank you for your comments! I came from oceans so definitely an adjustment! But I have to say I love more sunny days than rain for 2 weeks straight (came from WA) Thank you for watching!

Drivers here are better than Potland 😂

@@izzibrahim What’s the plan? We had red light cameras for awhile, and they worked well. But then they were determined to be unfair and now certain intersections in town like Harmony and Timberline are a total joke. I’ve lived in Fort Collins for 50 years. Our police force has not kept up with our rapid population growth and growth of more serious crime. Traffic enforcement is low on the priority list.

Thanks for the video! Im considering moving from Flagstaff AZ and Im pretty torn. They're very similar cities. Flagstaff is a little smaller/tighter, and more hilly, which I like. Seems to be more ethnic food here too. But Fort Collins is super cute in the same ways, very outdoorsy, granola, a million craft breweries, etc. And my job prospect there is really exciting! So hard to decide.
@izzibrahim5 ай бұрын
oooo YES there are lots of things to consider!!! Moving here was one of the best decisions I ever made...I hear you on the lack of ethnic food BUT Id say the options for food and local food makes it not so bad. You could eat out everyday for 2 years and not run out of options! I grew up in a Turkish family in areas with lots of ethnic food but I don't notice it too much here and know I can always travel further south for specific food. There are parts of NoCo that are smaller and tighter if you want a smaller vibe but yeah no hills LOL just mountains and the foothills. Have you visited recently?

Great job again Izzy! Your warm personality is always welcome! I recently discovered that home insurance options can be confusing given the yearly hail and wind + potential wildfires. And I read that some homeowners are unaware that they do not have replacement value in the event of a Would it be possible to do a deep dive on this topic and include some best practice info for how to approach coverage when buying in FoCo?
@izzibrahim9 ай бұрын
Hey Tony! Thank you for your feedback and questions! I personally went through a hail claim on my roof in the last year. My roof was totaled and needed replacing, I just paid my deductible and got it replaced! As for wildfires, I would say those are less likely in the town of Fort Collins but definitely possible if living in the foothills. I will need to do a deeper dive on this specifically and will get back to you regarding this!
