about the fuel pumps you are wrong mate. fuel pumps are cooled by the fuel running inside them not surrounding them. having said that it doesnt matter if the gas is at the lower part. what does matter however is that due to the movement of the car you have fuel moving around the gas tank so basically you are risking leaving the fuel pump without touching any fuel and yea ..that would gradually burn it up

The 350Z HID headlight bright setting actually doesn’t turn the ballast/bulb on and off. The HID headlamps actually use a shutter system that blocks the light. When the brights are engaged the shutter opens allowing more light (The bulb’s actual intensity never changes). You can hear the actuators do this when you engage/disengage the bright function. It’s a very cool design, like pop up headlights but the magic happens inside the headlamp housing. Another reason the 06+ headlamps are so expensive!
@drdiabeetus30614 жыл бұрын
As for the doors, 100% true! The door stops/regulators on these are notorious for wearing out fast. Luckily they are fairly cheap and easy to replace. The same P/N is used for both sides. After my leg and/or elbow got smashed dozens of times I cracked and purchased new regulators. Massive quality of life improvement! Even holds the door open when parked on my inclined driveway.

I've been driving for 14 years now and always drive till gas light comes on or close to it before fill ups and never had a fuel pump issue in any car i've owned. shoot my first car i got at 16 was a 96 maxima and i ran that thing out of gas a number of times and because i was low on cash in high school i always put 10 bucks in at a time so basically i drove that thing 85% of the time under a quarter tank. drove that car over 100k miles. still ran fine when i sold it but it was rusting out and i was then 23 yrs old at time(215k miles). great car and never an issue with the fuel pump. cant say i run cars out of gas anymore, but certainly drive em til gas light comes on, still never an issue. guess i'm lucky. also, I've learned to back in to parking spots with my 350z so not to tear up the front bumper.

Does a z350 have a built in microwave to heat up the oil + the entire engine block in 2 minutes?
@TALONATER5 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about the two minutes is for oil to fully circulate the entire engine which is what protects the engine from damage waiting for the oil to "heat up" does nothing you dont have a gauge to show you engine temp you only see coolant temp which doesn't have to be at normal operating temp other wise everybody would have to warm ther cars up for 15 to 20 minutes on cold days completely unnecessary unless you just want heat but if thats the case just drive a few blocks after the initial two minute warm up do your research here are some facts for you >>> In the thick of winter, the common wisdom is that when you are gearing up to take your truck out in the cold and snow, you should step outside, start up your engine, and let it idle to warm up. But contrary to popular belief, this does not prolong the life of your engine; in fact, it decreases it by stripping oil away from the engine's cylinders and pistons. In a nutshell, an internal combustion engine works by using pistons to compress a mixture of air and vaporized fuel within a cylinder. The compressed mixture is then ignited to create a combustion event-a little controlled explosion that powers the engine.When your engine is cold, the gasoline is less likely to evaporate and create the correct ratio of air and vaporized fuel for combustion. Engines with electronic fuel injection have sensors that compensate for the cold by pumping more gasoline into the mixture. The engine continues to run rich in this way until it heats up to about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. "That's a problem because you're actually putting extra fuel into the combustion chamber to make it burn and some of it can get onto the cylinder walls," Stephen Ciatti, a mechanical engineer who specializes in combustion engines at the Argonne National Laboratory, told Business Insider. "Gasoline is an outstanding solvent and it can actually wash oil off the walls if you run it in those cold idle conditions for an extended period of time."The life of components like piston rings and cylinder liners can be significantly reduced by gasoline washing away the lubricating oil, not to mention the extra fuel that is used while the engine runs rich. Driving your car is the fastest way to warm the engine up to 40 degrees so it switches back to a normal fuel to air ratio. Even though warm air generated by the heater core will flow into the cabin after a few minutes, idling does surprisingly little to warm the actual engine. The best thing to do is start the car, take a minute to knock the ice off your windows, and get going, Also hopping into your car and gunning it straightaway will put unnecessary strain on your engine. It takes 5 to 15 minutes for your engine to warm up while driving, so take it nice and easy for the first part of your drive. Performance cars often enforce that process with a graduated rev limiter-you don't get full RPM until the engine is up to temperature. Knowledge is power 👍
@chiprock8045 жыл бұрын
@@TALONATER that's right... I (wrongly) thought that you were saying you 'warmed' up your car in 2 minutes before you give it holy hell.

@@TALONATER Temp gauge means nothing in this case; once rpms reache 1100 at idle, you're good. Drive it normally BUT avoid full throttle until the oil is at actual operating temperature [around 212F] - it takes longer than you think; around 14 miles of steady driving.

Awesome thanks man, also my friend jus said something about turning off the anti theft before I pull the motor, but I unplugged the battery an started unhooking sensors before he told me that. What should I do?
@TALONATER6 жыл бұрын
if you unplugged the battery there's no power, if there's no power the ecu will have no idea your doing anything at all your good 👍

Hey bluezguy, I'm looking at tomie camshafts an I was wondering if there's a right size to get, or any advice will help.
@TALONATER6 жыл бұрын
i didnt do cams but i hear 272's are the way to go if your cam lift goes over 11.0 mm you must upgrade your valve springs also on the intake side if your lift goes over 11.0 mm theres a chance your piston may come in contact with your valve when the evtc advaces the timing if this is your case its highly recommendedthat you recess the pistons for adequate clearance thats all i know 👍

Yea that's what I got I my end also as far as the 272. But yea I'm thinking about having my headers ported an polished an changing the lifters Cam lobes an bearings while I'm at it. I jus got my JimWolfTech clutch kit in mail so get that put in on Monday an see what that does. Prolly have the z1 Ecu tune pretty soon too which I heard was either 300 or 600. Can z1 get rid of my chrismastree dash while theyre doin the Ecu tune for emissions an mpg

oh man your gonna love the jim wolf setup you should consider the rjmperformance clutch pedal as well its soooo amazing also its 300 for a mail in reflash as for the lights the cel is the only one they can ditch i have a video for removing all those lights 👍

Bruuuuh, the plastic yo! 🤦🏻♂️ And to ANYONE attempting to remove their rear strut bar cover, just buy a new one in advance so u don’t get too mad lol, it is LITERALLY designed to break, the right side plastic rivet mount Is much wider, causing extreme leverage to bend It in the middle when it pops out as the left side holds strong. A trap to force u into buying a $200 piece of glass/plastic alloy replacement.
@TALONATER4 жыл бұрын
All I know is the a pillars are definitely not designed to be removed from the car I broke every tab on mine and now the car dumps water inside constantly luckily I don't have any carpet inside anymore ☹️

Quick question man I run octane booster every time I fill up my car is that a bad thing or is that good for my car?
@TALONATER6 жыл бұрын
my personal opinion is it will be just fine others will argue with me but if it actually does damage to your engine wouldnt they have taken it off the shelves years ago 🤔
@drdiabeetus30614 жыл бұрын
Won’t hurt anything. Higher octane just helps stop premature detonation due to high compression/heat. You can always go high octane, race/track fuel is 100 octane in CA. But never go low octane with a high compression engine! You can destroy your engine FAST!
@JAKWEES6 жыл бұрын

Anyone that laughs at you for checking your parking has never dealt with a body shop. When a 14 day repair turns into 94 days, they give you the car back with torn up leather interior, and their paint cracks 1 year later because they put a bunch of bondo under the paint it readjusts your attitude real quick.

You should get a 370z dash! It’s the one piece and should fit snug.
@TALONATER6 жыл бұрын
i never thought about that before but i dont know about fitment 🤔
@peterfarion6 жыл бұрын
Chris Forsberg did it to his drift 350z idk how but recently I’ve seen TJ Hunt do it as well. I think it would be cool seeing someone show everyone else how to make it work. I was thinking about doing it my self but am tight on cash with college in the way. I also heard that it’s a decent fit in the 350z.
@peterfarion6 жыл бұрын
370z dash is way better in my opinion since it’s one huge piece instead of the 3 piece 350z dash that makes weird noises when you drive and looks like crap held together with rubber bands lol

@TALONATER6 жыл бұрын
there is some wire swapping well the plug itself is different from 03 to the 06 up the depo's were crazy easy to install just got to swap the wiring harness over and your good to go should you decide on the depo's fyi there a quarter the price of oem's i got a full how to install video 👍

Having owned my 06 G35 coupe for 12 years, some of this stuff you speak of is BS. For instance, while I only have 75k with 20k being just last year, I've regularly used my car as my "safe space" when I just want to listen to the radio or smoke and probably have hundreds of hours with my door open [and yes, it's a shin smasher] but it has yet to 'sag'. Also, interior scratches exists, but you'd also avoid sitting in the seat because we know what happens - my driver seat is torn and funky. Anyway...
@TALONATER5 жыл бұрын
Ive never dealt with the sag either but i got that info from a huge youtuber anthony j350 so i figured i would pass the info along 👍
