@The_D0C70R - If you really want to get one, try and get it as soon as possible. The upcoming 400Z is putting the Z lineup back on the map, so demand is going up and because the price bottomed out a year or two ago, youngsters could afford it then crash it, supply is going down. So naturally the price has started to rise and will keep rising.

@@shadwe11 It's a 2008 coupé but was registered in January '09 so must have been one of the last out the factory, it's on the higher end of mid-range miles at around 86K. I got myself an Audi R8 (V8 manual) almost 2 years ago and as much as I wanted to keep both I'm realising that I just can't justify the running costs of 2 cars that are so much alike. Damn near every good aspect of the 350Z is similar or better in the R8 and it's SOOO much more daily drivable than the 350Z that I end up taking the R8 out 9 out of 10 times. The only thing it falls seriously short on is the Z's modding potential (and the cost delta between Z and R8 mods lol) but I'm still enjoying the options that are available.

Yes my 03 350z Enthusiast has had most of the problems in the Fairlady's 21 years and 358,000 miles in soCal and the last decade in Central Cal. She's always been worth fixing! Still drives strong drinks a bit of Amsoil and is ready for new suspension parts as the Coilovers from Meagan work very nicely towards my goal of not needing to brake for most curves and corners. The 6 speed is nicely able to step down the speed with some warning. the drilled and grooved Brake kits from stillen really saved lots of effort with great braking that lasts about 100,000 miles between pad changes. I did have their master brake bracket installed and new steel braid brake lines and fluid changes when changing I tried the Blue Hawk and ther was more dust and cost and the braking is better with Stillen Semi Steel pads. I tried an ACT HD clutch about 5 years back and seem to be ready to upgrade to the 6 Puck upgrade as the stock clutch lasted around 15 years and still had life in it. But I was tempted and pleased with the lighter flywheel and new clutch. what a great driving difference. I've had a rodent eat the ribbon cable for the HVAC controls and another climb into the HVAC fan box to meet their end and take the fan a little off perfect. I replaced it later. I replaced the stock Tunes with a Kenwood unit and should have more compatible speakers just after the holiday. I've worn out the drivers Orange leather seat twice. Stillen also provided better adjustable sway bars. I had a weird fuse blow somewhere in a fender well and got to drive with no gauges for a while while that got sorted out. I haven't changed the timing chains but I did get the stock size but aluminum lower weighted Pulleys for the accessories. Those belts are on their 3rd set of belts. I found a great deal on some kind person who wanted shinier wheels and left the drop forged 18" wheels for sale for $100. the 18 feel lighter than the 17's but I think they cost me a little bit of MPG which I enjoyed around 27 MPG mixed with 70% freeway but now on 2 lane roads and 18" wheels it's more often 25 mpg combined. I still yearn to add the titanium full exhaust from Stillen and the intake as well as the spacer for the intake and another for more oil capacity underneath. Finish putting the aluminum shield back under the car to replace the plastic insulated one. The poor car did not age as well in Central Cal with the more common frozen mornings and a couple of roadkill hits on the front bumper cover now on it's third replacement. When this car stops passing CA Smog then I hope to decide on building the engine or replacing it with some forced air and fuel and going drifting. Quite a few more changes will fit in that time I hope for better performance driver seat and roll cage as well as drifting bars up front under the bumper cover and more LED lighting inside and out. the ppaint has lost it's clear coat this last year and some weird patches over the front fender in the paint will need some fixing. Also having a serious difficult time finding a ABS with TCS only replacement. I don't find VCS or power seats any use for my driving. I consider getting a 69-70 Datsun 2000 and seeing how much fun that can be or a good price on a 350z roadster with no roof and a manual transmission but they are tough to find still on the road in any fun condition to enjoy investing in. I maintain a preference of colors in Daytona Blue, Sunset Orange or Bright Silver. The rest of the other colors are fine but these three I know I like. I was hoping to get as enthused about the 2024 z car with turbo's but the cost is a good deal but far out of my putting down 45k-65K for a daily driver in an election year with current inflation. So I split up my driving with most in the Z, some in my recent addition '04 4runner while getting the steering column swapped on my 70 GMC 402 CAmper special and eventully restoring my high school favorite 64 Dodge Dart /6 4peed topless. In between my chore list of favorites the 4 HD's and Buell help lend some air when riding is possible on 2 wheels.

Should've been a list of 9 including headlights for safety reasons. For the base model DE's, they ran h7 halogens in a housing that didn't project light the best. It's SO worth dropping a couple Benjamins on an LED conversion kit for those stuck with the VQ35DE and VQ35DE REVUP

Good evening. Great video, thank you. I have a 2008 350z NISMO, first and only owner. At now at over a decade old with only 27k miles on it, I'm beginning to play around with mods. 1st mods were fixing the poor quality interior with quality fiber interior pieces to cover the hard plastic areas. Also added a Seibon carbon fiber hood with inlets to let my CAI breathe even better. Mod's I'm interested in.....Seats....the NISMO seats are decent but the seat bolsters don't provide enough side support when driving hard. Any reccs here would be appreciated. From the mods listed in the video, I'd be interested in your take on the exhaust and suspension recommended mods in context of applying them to the Nismo version. I find the suspension in my car to be the highlight of its performance. Do you still recommend coilovers for this model? Also, same with exhaust reccs?
@Motoroso3 жыл бұрын
Hey Bryan, very nice, the Nismo 350z is super rare! The primary difference is those better interior options, the body kits, and the wheels. The Nismo did come a little lower and with stiffer springs, and the actual dampers in the car were a touch better. But yes, coilovers can be a massive improvement in ride quality, as well as giving you the ability to finely tune the ride height and damping to tune the ride exactly the way you want it to feel. Additionally, I think the sway bars on the Nismo are a bit beefier than a base 350z, but there's still room for improvement with a set of sway bars which are made from better materials, and offer adjustability to fine tune the body roll. We actually cover a lot of this in our 350z suspension video, over here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3THgmtpZ7Woeck And of course we carry and sell many of these products, and we'd be glad to help you choose the level of coilover suspension you want, or pick a sway bar set that fits your needs.

Hey, you're absolutely right, our listing was very unclear about that. I've added another phot that shows the full kit, and enhanced the description to be more detailed. it does include the spacers: www.motoroso.com/p/112377-skunk2-racing-307-07-0400-composite-plenum-spacer?lid=1705234

I had 2 6mt and now I have the 07 g35 coupe auto with v35 skyline GT 350 sedan paddle shifters n g37s steering wheel custom installed.. with 4ga grounding kit it shifts quicker then any manual G.literally as fast if not faster then my DSG m3
@Eurolanta63 жыл бұрын
Oh and don’t do the grounding kit everyone and their mom recommends, go with AWG 4 gauge wiring and upgrade battery wiring +& ground wires.. and run 4ga AWG alternator wires

Get a Tranny cooler and esp a "transgo valve body kit" (put the name of the tranny) it will improve shift times makes it alround more sporty

U forgot about the de rev up which is from 05-06 then is the hr which is 07-08
@Motoroso3 жыл бұрын
You are correct! We lumped the Revup in with the DE (it is officially the "VQ35DE Revup") for the purpose of this video. We shouldn't have done that, a lot of people not happy with us about it, haha. I also mis-stated when the HR motor begins, and that was just me messing up. We actually cover the engine breakdown in more detail in our intake video which isn't out yet, but that's where it matters most in relation to the plenum spacer. Appreciate your contribution!

Hey I have a 2007 350z hr but it’s around 100000 miles and I’ve been kinda wondering if It would still be worth it to start moding it. Any opinions welcome also it’s an automatic and I know some people think manual or nothing
@Motoroso2 жыл бұрын
Only you can answer this question! Do you love the car? Do you like driving it? Do you plan to keep it? If the answers to those questions are yes, then who cares what anyone else thinks about automatic? 100k miles isn’t a crazy amount, so it’s gonna probably run for a lot longer and you can enjoy it more if you personalize it to your style. For reliability reasons I probably wouldn’t shoot for big HP numbers, but you can get some more power, improve the handling, braking and styling and be more in love with your 350Z!
@freeyourmind88493 жыл бұрын
I disagree on borla for the 3.5, Tuning is more difficult to find compared to a mustang/Camaro. I recommend a true dual exhaust and lighter flywheel vs stock dual mass. Cold air intake best on infinity, Z already bare bone. Don't put a larger TB on stock motor. You will lose power. Plenum spacer best on 03-05. Coilovers #1, then wheels #2, #3 brakes are a must.

Does not mention Motordyne 5/16 spacer. Skunk2 is literally plastic trash and is known to leak because of this ( just look at the 10+ years on the forums) and doesnt really help with heat isolation unlike the motordyne spacer kit. Does not mention Z1 spacers, intakes, headers, or parts. Doesn't mention that both engines tend to run hot and would greatly benefit from 25 row oil cooler, and an all aluminum radiator ( also the Z1 rear coolant alum bleed nipple).

@@Motoroso not hating just saying. There are a plethora of dyno results on forums for these cars since they are old. Researching what actually makes power is important. Not to mention a tune should be included in this list as without that the headers are going to make the car run like trash.

@@Z33Garage All good, we can handle a little heat. This video is intended to be a starting point for peeps just getting into their 350Z's, and if we tried to cover every nuance out there, it'd be an hour long. Plus, there's people with far deeper experience than us, yourself included. But we do really appreciate your contributions here. Was just a little surprising cause we did mention many of the things you called us out on.

@@Motoroso i was just being specific on the actual brands you recommended instead of the ones that have better track records in the Z community. Hence the Z1 parts, and motordyne specifically .

If I’m going for looks and not really speed but if I want to add some I could always do little stuff. should I just go for the DE? For the price difference I think DE is the way to go for me I want for looks more then speed but if I ever want to add a little power I can add a intake and headers and other little add ons! What do you guys think?

hey if you still wanting to this answer to this question a HR is always better if you can afford it. it has roughly 4x stronger internals than a DE just more reliable in general
