1. Chris Jericho "Break the Walls Down 2007" Jericho's actual theme at the time was actually present on the Wii version of SmackDown vs RAW 2009. It indeed was a way to market the Vol. 8 album. 2. DDP "Diamonds" The theme 2K used was written and produced by Jim Johnston. It's also present on his WWE DVD that was released around the same time. 3. Bossman "Jive Soul Bro" His "Hard Times" theme is owned by WWE, written by Jimmy Hart and J. Maguire. It was released on iTunes and Spotify on 2014 on the WWE: The Federation Era album. 4. Rick Rude "The Stripper” WWE still own the publishing rights to both of Jim Johnston's themes made for Rick Rude, it appears there's legal troubles due to sounding too similar to David Rose's "The Stripper". 5. Cactus Jack “The Devil In The Detail” This is a production track on Extreme Music. Cactus' infamous theme was NOT written by Jim Johnston, as it is also a production track that was, interestingly, used in pornographic movies. Jim Johnston did write a replacement for it, which was used in WWE '13, but WWE didn't provide 2K this song. 6. Bam Bam Bigelow "Blood Cult” This is a production track on Extreme Music. All of Bam's themes were written by Jim Johnston, it seems WWE didn't provide 2K this song. 7. Ric Flair "Early Sprach" Ric actually used this song in 1991. It was arranged and produced by Jim Johnston. Another mistake in WWE's part in providing the themes to 2K. It was also present on WrestleMania X8 for the GameCube.

I think the Bam Bam Bigelow we've gotten in some of the recent WWE games are based on his WCW run. Because he was originally included in the WCW pack in 2K15. So maybe that's why we didn't get his theme song that had the most amazing lyrics of all time. "BAM BAM! BAM BAM! BAM BAM!" Absolutely amazing. lol

Bam Bam Bigelow's theme in 2K17 is his WCW theme. For some reason in 2K17 Bam Bam Bigelow and Lex Luger had their WCW themes, but in the newer games they have their WWF themes

I haven’t looked through all of the comments, but I wanted to help with the Cactus Jack theme. The theme we all know and love is a piece of production music called Whole Lotta Groove. However, since the music had not been used in such a long time, the specific library from which it came from was unknown, even in WWE. To play it safe, they used a different piece of music, and subsequently used Whole Lotta Groove in the next game as it was discovered to be from the Musiique Cinema Television (MCT) music library, and suitable rights could be confirmed. I hope that’s helped!

Rick Rude's theme was based on a piece of music called "The Stripper". The music change happened one year later in WWE 2K18, probably because the music sounded too similar to "The Stripper's".

WWE ‘12 got multiple themes wrong, including Attitude Era Edge+Christian using the modern Edge theme song, Mason Ryan+Husky Harris songs switched, Masked Kane using the 2011 version of Kane’s theme song, and I think I remember one more mistake but cant think of it rn

Regarding Cactus Jack's theme, I would wager its probably because his actual theme music is library music from a long defunct French production music library called Musique Cinema Television (the track itself is titled "Whole Lotta Groove" for anyone who doesn't know and cares), chances are it would have cost them far more to license the track for the videogames than it would to use something produced in-house by Jim Johnston, so they just opted to use the track Jim made to dub over the original on the WWE Network.

DDP's Dubbed Theme on the Network is okay but I would use his Original Theme when playing as him in Video Games or Watching DDP'S Matches on the Network

Rock Rude's theme was correct. The in-game model was based on his 1988 look, and the version of the theme they gave him is the 1988 version of "Ravishing" - the one people are more familiar with, and was used in Legends of Wrestlemania, was the 1987 version.

Rick rude theme was right, I woulda included RVD's "Fury of the Storm", and to my knowledge Jim Johnston had a licensing deal - infact he owns his music and not the WWE (as you can find by looking up licensing rights on KZbin and Uncaged on itunes. That's also a primary factor to why the WWE has been re-dubbing his music and replacing his themes with CFO$ for current performers

Several of those times for Undertaker were licensing. Kane in WrestleMania XIX, WWE Raw 2, WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain, and WWE SmackDown! vs Raw 2009 all had “Out of the Fire” because of licensing with Finger Eleven over “Slow Chemical” wasn’t finalized.

Low-key surprised you didn't mention RVD and Kane having alternate theme songs in Here Comes the Pain. RVD had his Invasion theme called Van Daminator instead of One of a Kind by Breaking Point (which he had in Shut Your Mouth and almost every other game) Kane had Out of the Fire (his later-days Attitude Era song) instead of Slow Chemical by Finger Eleven (aka the best Kane theme) RVD also used Fury of the Storm by Shadows Fall in SvR 2007 (from the WWE Wreckless Intent soundtrack), instead of his otherwise traditional WWE song by Breaking Point. Wonder why they usually struggled getting that song 🤔 Also, come to think of it, I think Lita's song in Here Comes the Pain is also her Attitude Era song rather than the one she'd use from around 2002 to her retirement.

5:14 Yup, since WWE 2K14 he's been using that theme. The only times they gave him his actual Entrance Music "The Striptease" in the Video Games was in SvR 2008 and Legends Of WrestleMania. But the video you used was actually using his actual "The Striptease" theme. So I think maybe somebody replaced it in that video.

Dr. Death Steve Williams in WWF Attitude - for some reason Acclaim gave him Dan Severn's theme. Stacy Kiebler in several game appearances - same deal with "American Badass", either THQ or WWE couldn't reach a deal with ZZ Top (not Kid Rock this time despite him being the artist behind this cover) to use "Legs" so instead a vocaless knockoff was used NWO members, Booker T and the Hardy Boyz in WWE Wrestlemania X8 - for some reason their themes weren't in the game, instead replaced really generic and tacky sounding tracks, or in the case of the Hardys a knockoff. It's also worth noting that "American Badass" wasn't in WWF No Mercy either, however there is an original MIDI track that sounds suspiciously like "American Badass", even begins with the bell sounds from Taker's entrance version of the song.
