Ref winning first blood was a feature. The ref fights back anytime he's attacked and can even screw you out of matches by either slow counting your pins, or not counting at all.

The referee winning a match was also possible in Just Bring It. One of my favorite childhood memories was playing a tables match with my cousin, he was Rock I was Rikishi, and I’m fairly certain we had hit the ref a few times throughout the match, so when Cuz threw me onto the table, the ref IMMEDIATELY grabbed me on the table and gave me a DDT through it. His celebration was like an American football ref saying a FG was no good, set to the Smackdown theme.

The fact that the referee has a victory animation suggests it's a joke feature rather than a glitch

The Referee uses the generic victory animation, which is probably set to every character model in the game with exception with those who have unique winning animations (for example, Randy Orton has a generic animation while Steve Austin has a unique one) It's likely that his model is registered as a character so if it accidentally wins a match it defaults to the generic victory pose.

I assume, NPC characters like Jerry Lawler can be selected and added to the menu, you just have use a gameshark or action replay. I think the referee has one of those slots too. NPC characters don't have pictures on the select screen though.

It was either in WWE ' 13, or WWE 2k14, but I remember playing either of the two, and despite Big E Langston not actually being in the game (at the time he was called Big E Langston), he would be talked about on commentary during random matches on Universe Mode. Michael Cole and Jerry 'The King' Lawler would just randomly start talking about him.

Back in WWF WM2000 for the N64 I had a friend that somehow won both tag team championship belts with one person. I don't know how but I remember looking through every person in the game and only seeing the one person with the strap. I think he did it with Jericho

I think the "Scratch Logo" appearing in WWF Raw was more a result of someone trying to draw the WWF logo in the same perspective as the side of the monitor and in as little pixels as possible. Still a funny co-incidence though!

The third gender option was also in Here Comes the Pain and worked the same way. It's an odd but welcome option,if you set a created woman wrestler to "male" would be the only way to increase her stats in the season mode.

I had my No Mercy save data for like 20 years, and only had the $80,000 shirt or whatever left to buy. Wouldn't you know my game reset itself while I was playing it on Twitch and I lost 20 years worth of progress? Also, you can win guest referee games as the referee in that game if you make both wrestlers tap out and call for the bell while they're both on "danger" or "losing it" or whatever it is the health bar says after they tap.

I am huge wrestling fan, but 2k20 was so messed up that I gave up after a certain point.. so many glitches but what pissed me off the most.. was universe mode.. I would set the matches and save.. ya know.. living in my fantasy land because I own WWE and call the shots 😂 I would have a PHENOMENAL show lined up.. I'd save and when I'd come back later.. it would have all been changed to random matches, title matches would no longer be for titles or it would freeze up and I'd have to start all over.

Duuude I remember The defective save system in No Mercy, it was so frustrating, specially after you've made a big progress. I have a memory playing season mode with a badass CAW version of myself and at some point within the storyline, the wrestler came out as the model for creating a superstar, hahaha good memories

In just bring it, if a ref grabs you when laying on a table he will powerbomb you thru it like everyone else. Meaning he can win the tables match, complete with a Hogan victory pose to the smackdown theme song. Also in the gamecube WWE games, if you attack the ref enough in a no dq style match, he will eventually go berserk and continuously beat the crap out of your superstar for a while

The only thing that was broken in WWE 2K 20 when it hit the year 2020 was The Creation Suite you could actually do a normal match you just couldn't go into the Creation Suite

The “???” Gender thing was then referred to as “Other” in later games like Just Bring It, Shut Your Mouth, and Here Comes the Pain. This would allow female Created Wrestlers to compete for any title in JBI’s story, be playable in the Season mode of both SYM and being able to boost their attributes in HCTP’s Season mode.

Oh i hate that animation in Smackdown 2 and HCTP at 5:42 when Kane feels tired. I nearly smashed/broke my PS2 while playing Smackdown Just Bring It while i was playing as a CAW in slobber knocker and when Dean Malenko did a Neckbreaker on me, I then proceeded to punch my PS2 so hard to the point where my disc tray wouldn’t close anymore. I also cracked a Smackdown 2 Know Your Role disc in half by throwing it on the ground where it shattered to pieces and i instantly regretted it when i saw the pieces go flying and also smashed like 3 controllers when a wrestler does a Neckbreaker or counters me. Am i just growing old or what? (I was born in 1999 so i’m 21.) Because as a kid i used to enjoy these games and i would never get angry till now as an adult. Why can’t i ever play the PS1/PS2 wrestling games without ever being angry now?
