This is great! I wish i saw this video before i went. I remember the trail was really dusty and I had a lot of sinus problems. And yes, I think you should just start early and do a day hike instead of camping. Carrying that heavy pack up the next day was the hardiest thing I've ever done. Watching the geological formation change as you go down was really cool. I know very little about geology and it was still educational to me. Have fun!

Thanks! And sorry about the sinus problems....usually the trail is either dusty or covered in mule pee haha. Glad you got to experience the Grand Canyon along this trail though!

Love the videos- very informative. Canyonlands on your list ?

Thanks! I'm working on a brand new itinerary for Canyonlands, so when that's done, I'll definitely be adding videos here!

I think you could also take your bike to South Kaibab Trail Header if you want to get there at like 4am. Don’t think the shuttles run that early and quicker than walking the rim trail? But, still would want a light while biking that early.

Yeah, a bike would probably work. The hiker shuttle does leave pretty early though...they alter the schedule based on the time of year, and I think you can catch it as early as 4 or 5 a.m. during the summer. Either way :)
