How can you find out if a rental contract will be enough to claim, residency if you are seeking citizenship by descent. I plan to complete a six month contract in south Italy. Grazie mille JoAnne

I'm really late to the party here but how can you request all these things such as asking for everything in writing, insisting on inspection, etc.) if you do not speak Italian. How hard is it to communicate with the lawyer, landlord, rental agency, etc.?

@@MrCrazz23 it depends where you will be in Italy. Most lawyers will speak some English and some landlords. I'd look up all the terms in Italian and write out everything that you need in both English and Italian. Use deepl for the translation as it is the most accurate. My husband sends emails in both English and Italian with the Italian being translated.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate the video because all you see on KZbin is how great moving to Italy is they don't talk about all the problems. I'm actually looking at Vietri Sul Mar in southern Italy which is along the Amalfi Coast near Salerno. I've been told the southern part of Italy is a whole different world and English has spoken much less. We're hoping to take advantage of the 7% flat tax so we need to live in a town that has a population of 20,000 or less in southern Italy. I would imagine at least at the Amalfi Coast since tourism is so high that there would be more English speakers but not sure about the towns outside of it.
