Hello Nio! So glad to have found your channel and the education you have provided on Japanese Teas. THANK YOU! I will be traveling to Japan and would greatly appreciate if you are willing to recommend a few Japanese Tea Rooms for tastings or Tea Ceremony. I will be traveling to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka...

I'm so glad you are going! It is such a wonderful country. If you have a few days in Kyoto I would recommend taking a day to visit Nara and Uji (or just Uji) and you can participate in a tea ceremony at Taihoan tea house, you just might want to sign up in advanced. Also, in Tokyo you will find some of the best tea shops . Here is a guide to our favorite tea shops: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHLYlaGeiqp8kMk

Fantastic pedagogical video into Japanese teas. While I've been drinking Japnaese green teas for some time, I learned a lot! Very surprised about the use of pesticides & chemical in the production of gyokuru. I'm in France, so a bit too far to order from your site. I'm definitely watching all your content though.

A wonderful introduction Japanese tea, but at 8:21 do I see milk being poured?! Am I wrong in that milk in oriental tea is simply not done?
@Nioteas2 жыл бұрын
this could have been for matcha. Yes you never see this being done with Japanese tea but in the modern age matcha lattes are how many people are introduced to Japanese tea

While I personally don't buy (in to) the organic message for a number of reasons, I have really enjoyed your videos explaining both the types and the brewing of Japanese teas. I've recently bought, a little too much, Japanese tea, and your videos were the best I could find. They're well structured, with time stamps and a logical progression, and maybe most praiseworthy they include little self promotion. I particularly enjoyed your short and easy "28 types" video. To prove this isn't some intricate paid shilling, I'll say that mentioned the use of no chemicals, which doesn't hold true as chemicals aren't a descriptor of something "unnatural", they're all the matter around us.
@Nioteas Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like the videos. It is difficult to explain the sourcing process in a quick phrase as we follow the JAS guidelines which is the Japanese equivalent of USDA but we cannot market the tea as "organic" in the U.S so we say grown without pesticides or chemicals
