I tried a bag of Sencha and I enjoy it very much. Getting ready to buy another bag. I'm glad I enjoy this green tea because as much as I like dragon well, lately I'd rather support Japanese farmers than China's!

Yeah japanese green tea actually helps a lot. Speeds up metabolism. Japanesegreentea.com has good prices, if you are new cant go wrong with tea bags. They have 100bags for $30 but you can subscribe for 15% off cancel and use 10% code when you sign up for email letters. Brings it down to about $22 for 100 bags.

Might be dumb question, but I’m new to the tea steeping world. After you steep 1 time and drink the cup. How long can you leave the Sencha in the clay pot? Should I clean that day or save the leaves for tomorrow? You mentioned “steep 2-4 times” is that all in the same sitting?
@Nioteas
@Nioteas Жыл бұрын
You can ask whatever questions you want! You don't have to brew them all in one sitting but they should be close together, like a couple hours apart at the most I would say. You don't want to leave the leaves out for too long, they can go bad

The video talks about the separation of black tea and green tea. Does the Japanese people use to drink black tea? I had thought this kind of tea is more common in China.
@Nioteas
@Nioteas 3 жыл бұрын
yes almost all the tea drunk in Japan is green tea. I believe green tea is also more common in china but other teas like black/red tea are more common there as well

What do you think is the healthiest type of sencha? I've read that sencha has the most benefits generally, but which kind of sencha is best? Perhaps the ultra steamed kind because it has the least oxidation?
@Nioteas
@Nioteas Жыл бұрын
We have a video all about the health benefits of Sencha here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3nRpn6mg5yMm6c. if you are trying to get the catechins (antioxidants) you might want to go for an unshaded tea and brew at a higher temperature. If you want more amino acids like theanine, you can go for a shaded tea.
