Dude, low key, I love it when the big boys pump up rares. They are easy to overlook, and so many beginning and early game players benefit from learning who is food and who isn"t. Even mid game players.......we need champs for rare rooms!

I took diabolist to 5 early, got my first row of faction guardians in Demonspawn filled with her and houndspawn dupes. Also got diabolist booked out completely with dupes. She's been invaluable in my progress, providing me that last bit of needed speed before my gear was good enough, and that turnmeter really helped me in FK paired with Frozen Banshee. Also managed to get her to hit decently hard so now she is helping me get in control and keep laying hits. I'm considering taking her to 6 star because in her current build, she's really useful to me. Thanks for all the great content, as always, you make enjoying raid that much easier. Two rares that don't get a lot of hype that I got some decent use out of early game, were Draconis and Hyria. For a long time Draconis was my only shielder (or at least aoe shielder), and Hyria was my only ally attack champ. There are much better champs for these roles, no question, but early game when you don't have champs like Brogni, you gotta make do with what you got, and Draconis got me through early game Scarab, and Hyria enabled me to just barely beat the dps race in some fights while progressing. Reliquary Tender was also my first and only debuffer/reviver for a while, but she already gets a ton of hype.

early game *any* rare is gold dust. I had a 2-star hero as my healer in every team for a long time, until i had 10+ rares and finally got a rare healer.....

The great rare Executioner is farmable from Hallowed Halls, that's how I got him so no books needed for him just keep farming stage 11 for more copies.

Love all your videos. Been listening to you for a while. What I noticed here is that all the rares you talk about are at Lvl 60. I think it’s harder to make a case to the F2P player or the low spender to max everything. How about a video with some your collaborators on how to use some of their favorite rares at 50? I totally agree with Abyssal. Definitely, a slept upon rare that is awesome in the DT rare side rooms. I would also put Haruspex, void rare, on the list, if not already on HH's, list as his small A2 inc spd, and more importantly, his revive one chump can be clutch in faction wars, if you have no reviver.

One of my favorite rares who I maxed out is Chevalier. I don't think hes a top 20 rare but he is definitely underrated. He has ignore block damage and ignore shield on his a1 (double hitter) with a 20% chance of repeating the attack. In my experience he is not a weak attacker. He also has increase defense and weak heal on all allies. HH rates him as a 1.5, I say hes a 2.5 at worst, closer to a 3.

I think you're missing the boat on Coffin Smasher, Ash. Triple hit A1 with big decrease attack, HP burn A2, 5% damage reduction passive and one of, if not the highest HP on a rare champ. Great in multiple areas of the game.

Tirlac was great in the Spirit SR in the last DTH rotation, his AOE skill cooldown, plus stun set. Was very handy. May have some use in FW when it finally opens. And Ash where the heck was Fleshmonger??? He is TOP TOP Rare champ bro! AOE Decrease Def! Triple hit A1 and increase Crit and Att then goes again! Slap him in a Stun set and he does so much work! He is so so underrated!

Anointed is a criminally underrated rare for arena and dungeons. 3 hit A1, buff steal A2, all ally 30% crit rate and 25% turn meter He has great stats esp for a rare. He will decrease the crit rate requirement (therefore easier Gearing/armor set) for ur Champs that desperately need crit rate. He works great in FK, spider to enable Champs like Cold heart.

Some players get more utility out of champion x over champion y because of their playing style. Some players are more conservative about when to use this or that skill which is going to affect the viability of champions. It also takes practicing with different team combos to see which ones are going to work best. I don't like having to switch out one champion over another because this or that stage of a dungeon is geared towards a certain affinity which may make me a little lazy, but if I can find a team that's going to do well regardless of the affinity I'm going to lean more on that team than another.

Lifetaker was great for me early through mid, and still use her at times. She was helpful in climbing Fire Knight & Spirit Keep, and was also useful at times in dropping turn meter in Arena.

Elhain in LifeSteal gear kills. All those huge AOE Nukes keeps that Health bar up well.

I got a 6-star soul on executioner so I built him out. The atk+def damage really prevents him from shining with blessing. He helped me get a bit farther in faction wars and good for dungeon rooms. Other than that, not much use. Placed him in tag arena since my account new and he ok in arena with def and counter, but only for a slum Lord account like mine.

I have 8 rares with 6*. Most of them are obvious (apoth,renegade,cold heart(all 3), kael, etc), but the most underrated imo is Templar! who I found had a great synergy with Athel in early game. I completed normal campaign with this pair. Of my 25 rares with.5*, I have all the rares you mention, except,sorry Ashwalker (: I watched your video with HH, where even you dissed AW. Can't really blame you. Keep up the outstanding work, man!

I like Candleguard for her Triumph Cry skill which includes a Weaken Debuff for 2 turns. Put her in Destroy/Reflex and she's decent in the first few stages or so of Faction Wars.

Frostbringer: she has 50 percent increase atack and speed in all champions in A3, drecrease defence in four targets in A2, and block heal in two targets in A1. With my equips she is the fastest in my team with Wu Kong aura making all my glass cannons attack first in arena, and booked she helps me in clan bosses and healing dungeons like Fire Knight and Spirit Keep along with Venomage with her 3 turn cooldown (correct me if I am wrong)

I also use her with survival instinct, which is not very good with her Righteous set, which is like my best equipment since I earned it with Raid's anniversary. It helps her place her buffs/debuffs consistently. (...Oh, she is an Epic 😅)

I would also add Chevalier (yes, he is bad rated by HH but he is the team captain of my FW21 Team [5.22 min / 2 rares & 3 epics}- .....with the most damage(!). And Odachi from the Shadowkin Faction (a very useful def champ).

I feel like Odachi is severely underrated. I have him fully booked and built to 6⭐️ he's awesome! He's a tank and he sometimes hits harder than some of my Leggos and lasts longer than them as well.

I've never seen anyone saying anything about Fencer and she was my MVP for a long time when I first started the game. Elhain was my starter and she easily took her place, then I thought, I don’t wanna reinvent the wheel myself, I didn’t want to compare her to Kael, cause she doesn’t bring poisons, so I built Galek, max and gave her gear to him. The worst investment I’ve ever made. She was still so much better imho there was no comparison.

sentinel and crimson slayer are criminally underated. Crimson slayer can do great work on fk and send devil, while sentinel can be built to be an extremely hard to kill tank given enough hp, regen set and accuracy.

Hey Ash, I remember back when starting raid, there was a rare I would use to solo farm force potion keep, and it's Mother Superior. She's definitely been under-rated when it comes to looking for videos on her, but man... get her masteries done, throw in some food champs, and she can solo much levels in force keep.

Any champion you are relying on for damage needs 100% crit rate first, then it depends on the champion if you should prioritize their main stat or adding crit damage. If you don't have problems keeping them alive, then crit damage is probably a good idea, but there is always a trade off when you start swapping artifacts. Just make sure you don't ruin your champ by taking away too much of their survivability for improved damage.

... just to add, besides crit rate, if you have an HP champ they need almost all HP stats so try to get HP% on boots and HP% on chest. It gets easy when you can forge resilience gear. A 6 star HP% on an HP champ works well. I got Arix he's an HP champ as a free login reward, and he nukes harder than my nukers with around 82Khp total plus 100% crit rate.

To shut off a champions skill, go to team set-up. You will find it on the left hand side, just before you go into battle. There you can choose each champion and individually select each person's skill to enable or disable it. Raid is about synergy of the skills and the team, not just about hitting"Auto" on every battle.

Mycolus is one of my top rares, on his passive he brings a 5% damage reduction to the whole team he takes it instead, heals himself on his A1 30% damage dealt and he can hit for a fair bit 4.2*Attack, plus he then heals the ally with the lowest health by 10% of their max HP this self heal can fully heal him with the mastery warmaster. On his A2 Places a [Shield] buff on this Champion for 2 turns equal to 20% of their MAX HP, then places a 25% [Ally Protection] buff on all allies except this Champion for 2 turns on a three turn cool down. He carried my ass through Ogryn faction and helps with rare doom tower rooms. Ok he is a void but still only a rare.

Apart from the no-brainers like Coldheart or the starter champions, I think you should test the Rares in 5* gear. Because look : people will keep their first 6* gear for their first legendaries like Scyl or Ronda or Visix... and then they will start getting good epics from shards. Even as a mid-late game player, I am not sure I have enough good 6* gear for my "not so important rares", like a soulbond bowyer or a heiress. They start getting more importance when you finished doom tower and are aiming at completing hard secret rooms, which I would call "end game".

The underlying idea is that it is more difficult to get good gear than to get good champions. This is the limiting factor. Plarium gives you very good champs at the beginning of the game.

Everybody's always sleeping on Galek... He can really smash, he brings decrease defense and he is almost as durable as Elhain as a starter champion. Put him in a stun + divine offense set, focus on crti rate and crit damage with some accuracy and you will see.. He doesn't even have to be that fast

Executioner was my 2nd ever 6star he was even better before his nerf but he helped me do brutal campaign back in the early days of raid .and he was free 👍

I'm a fan of rares as well. I think alot of epics and rares out perform even some legendaries. I have just a handful of legos' and a couple of those are just garbage compared to some of my rares and epics (Looking at you Angar and Astrolith. Talk about a waste of resources). TBH I think they should bump the final base stats for rares/epics, because it takes the same amount of work/resources/energy to max them, as it takes for legendarys. MORE really, since they start at 3 stars. So while they should definately start out much weaker in baseline stats, finished ones should be on par with any other type.

Hey, anyone who might see this, I got asked a question in guild, are there any rare champs worth building in order to get the hp burn mechanic? I am sort of building wretch just to see if i can get his burn down with gear sets and masteries. I am trying to get him quick/lucky enough to be able to apply burn to as many spiderlings as possible. anyone have a rare burn champ they think is worth building?
