After Hasbro did that ban hammer, there were a few people who actually caught wind of this and disagreed heavily with what Hasbro did. So they stepped up and basically assisted the "Fighting is Magic" devs (Mane6) develop their own fighting game, now sold as "Them's Fighting Herds". These people include: 1) Lauren Faust, the creator of the MLP:Friendship is Magic series. She drew the devs unique characters, so they could use them without fear of reprisal from Hasbro. 2) People at Arks Systems Works, the developers of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, gave them their net code for stable online play. 3) People at Lab Zero Games, the developers of Skullgirls, gave them their fighting engine - so they didn't have to be bound by the freeware "fighting game maker" software.

Means he biffed with the whole "the Bronies got nothing" line, because instead, they just transitioned to a more complete game they COULD sell for profit, instead of a small game that was going to be %100 free to try and avoid Hasbro's wrath...

Unfortunately, the story mode for TFH was recently canned by Mane 6's publisher. From what I've heard the publisher thought it would be better to try and monetize the game through DLC fighters.

I didn't know the story that deeply, but did know that there was more to it than what was covered since all the work didn't go to waste. At the end of the day the original one was still ruined so it qualifies for this list, but that can be said about most fan projects that get too popular.

As a Christian gamer, Christian video games and Christian media for the most part tend to suck. They tend to talk down to people and think they have to spell out the message or you will miss it without giving the enjoyment that gets people to want to listen to that message. Tolkien, Lewis, and Rowling did it right. I once spoke to the pastor at LevelUp Church who told me they had made a mod for World of Warcraft and put it up on the market. I braced myself and asked "Did you put any Christian material in it?" to which he said, "No sir! We just made a fun mod and said it was by LevelUp Church." What a relief.

I would disagree regarding Christian music. I don't see a forced message or the tendency to talk down to people there. However, I know exactly what you're talking about with Christian movies. I can't comment on Christian video games. I never played them.

With Command Conquer 4, I think there was also the issue that the final design was made with tablets and smartphones in mind instead of an actual PC. Regarding Descent: there is Overload, it was apparently made by creators of descent and it seems to have a positive rating.

Final Fantasy XIII was originally going to be a whole lot better, before the lore that SquareEnix had spent like 2 years building got scrapped a month or two before launch by the suits. That's the main reason the first game was...lacking compared to XIII-2 and XIII-3.

Fighting is Magic definitely became Thems Fighting Herds and slowly that went down as well when the Dev team got broken up and had the story mode abandoned yet apparently we got two more fighters to add to the roster

I blame Modus/Maximum Games for what happened to TFH, mostly due to how passionate Mane6 were about the project, and that (for whatever reason) Modus/Maximum seem to now own the TFH IP and have pretty much shelved it indefinitely. Honestly, the downfall of the game just makes me really sad, as it is actually quite good (and I very much enjoyed the Story Mode, what little of it there was).

To give Mask of Eternity some credit, it's a decent action-adventure game, nothing great but decent. Unfortunately it's far from a King's Quest game, besides the whole genre-shift it takes place in basically another world, with no effort at all to reference the places/people/or established lore of the previous games. As for FiM well yeah it was revived as Them's Fighting Herds but no happy ending here, I don't have enough info for the finale "real" reason(s) but most likely lack of funds/mismanagement/publisher shenanigans caused that game to be...frankly unfinished, the core is done, but with only a snippet of storymode, and development completely ceased, we are stuck with the ghosts of what might of been.

@@chisaten Well, it is only that because it was a series of last minute changes. Game almost done? Change this. Almost done? Change one more thing. Is an old title now. So am sure many people might not know the development process. Maxim actually leaked what they had done before EA ordered changes. It was better than the released game. In line with what was on list lie Tiberium and Transformers. I mention creature creator because it highlights what I mean. Before about a month before Spore launched, They put out a creature creator tool to help populate library. At that time, design mattered. Many legs with fast feet? Were fast. Many claws, were dangerous. Creatures could specialize. Well, spore launched. They decided that was to complex and so stat values were based upon single best piece of kit. And the hide spore launcher to do everything creature design came to me. All creatures do everything equally.

Something that i really hate about EA is that for whatever the f*** reason Disney actually thought it'd be a fantastic idea to give EA the rights to any and all Star Wars games for the longest damn time and EA thought it'd be a fantastic idea to cancel multiple Star Wars games that sounded and looked like they would've been really fun and unfortunately Star Wars Battlefront 3 was one of those cancelled games and instead they remade Battlefront into a total and complete s*** show except for the Battlefront 2 remake that was actually pretty fun but eventually EA thought it'd be funny to cancel any and all support for that game just so they could continue support for The Sims 4 for many many years to come and so they could also work on Battlefield 2042 but guess what EA eventually ruined The Sims 4 and from what i've read and heard EA even messed up on Battlefield 2042 oh yeah and unless another game company a better game company decides to work on them there still isn't going to be a Battlefront 3 nor any proper remakes

Who made the great Star Wars games of Jedi Outcast 1/2, and the fairly fun Games with Starkiller/ Vader's secret apprentice? Also EA made the great last two Jedi survivor and Jedi Fallen Order. Those and and the Bioware games were all pretty damn good. But the other EA battlefront and flying games all sucked with micro Trans and lame stories!

Imagine if… the whole Kojima/Konami destruction was ALL orchestrated. Stay with me, the entire fallout was constructed, with everything to play out with Konami wilfully becoming a scapegoat and taking the reputation smash, after Survive. For then years later to reinstate and remake their flagship properties only for the precise moment when it says ‘Directed by Hideo Kojima’. It isn’t the case I imagine, but this scenario is definitely something only Kojima could and would craft. To which the fan base whose lives have been altered by him would reach a fever pitch of elation, a singularity of pure idealistic perfection. Thinking about this really makes me wish for, but makes me sad at the reality.
